I just don't understand the appeal of these things. They may be hot now, but I predict that you'll be able to buy them for $1 apiece in a couple of years.

They're just the latest collecting fad that has come around. Same thing as Beanie Babies, Pokemon, Pogs, and other things like that. Eventually it will burn out and people will move on to something else. That being said, people love them and enjoy collecting them. But don't buy them as an investment. They won't hold their value. Buy them to enjoy them and love them.

Some of the collectors (myself included) are already started to get burned out by them. They've got too many coming out too close together that it's impossible to keep up. I know some people who are already getting rid of their whole collection. Like you said, I didn't buy mine as an investment, I bought them because I enjoy them (to an extent ).
