It seems as though Disney is changing around dining ADRs. Now, I will confess that I have not read all the threads and posts about the ADR system, but I do keep reading that Disney is only taking ressies for CRT, CM and V & A 180 days out if your date is past March 22, 2009. What is going on with Disney dining?
We are new DVC members and are planning to take our first trip "home" to BWV in July 2010. Granted, I know that is still so far away but I will be booking in August at the 11-month mark, and normally I plan our vacations far in advance. We went to WDW in July 2008, and I had all our ADRs in place exactly 180 days out. That was of course after I had checked the EMH days at the parks (a couple of days we went to morning EMH, the other days we avoided EMH like the plague), so I knew which days we would be at which park and which restaurant to book. We do love certain park restaurants and would like to go back (CP, Biergarten), plus want to try a few more (Fantasmic dinner package; Chefs de France for sure). But I would have to know our best days to go to the parks in order to make those ressies, and our best days to be out of the parks in order to make ADRs at resort restaurants we want to try (among them...WCC; Spoodles; Cape May Cafe breakfast and dinner; 1900 Park Fare breakfast).
So what is going on with WDW and ADRs/EMH calendars? Any idea from anyone how things may be next year? If the 180-day ADR rule still applies for my next trip, I will be able to make my ADRs in January 2010, just as I made them this past Jan. for our July trip. What do I do if the park calendars are not out? This may not seem like a big deal to many people, but my kids love those character meals and really want to see certain characters. It is also easier in the hot summer months to see characters while dining than waiting in hot long lines in the parks with little ones. Worked out very nicely this past summer and we all had a great time!
