I realize that it would discourage some users from the DP if it were just $38 per day per person over age 3 period. However, I do think that it would solve the problem of ch vs ad credits.
However, it's like addressing the pain of a broken arm by cutting off the arm.
And, I think that it would in the long run make more $ for WDW. .... I realize that it would mean less sales of the DDP.
So, it actually
wouldn't make more money for WDW in the long-run.
This could also help lighten the overwhelming amount of ADRs, and dificulty that some ppl have obtaining one, if not calling months in advance.
That "problem" is really illusory, in many respects. Having trouble getting ADRs indicates that Disney is serving one customer instead of another, so from Disney's standpoint, the only advantage would come from how much the bill would be for one patron versus another, and I think you'd have a hard time proving that Disney is making the wrong choice in that regard, the way things are now. And from the standpoint of the two customers, either way, one would be served and one wouldn't, so there is no overall advantage to be gained there.
What's more, if WDW goes from a situation where people generally have difficulty getting ADRs to one where people generally don't have difficulty, then they're actually serving fewer customers, which is a bad thing for WDW. So it's a lose-lose for WDW.
Maybe I am wrong, just an idea
Not wrong, per se -- just too narrowly focused. While some guests would yield a greater experience, many guests would yield a lesser experience, and Disney would sub-optimize profitability. The bad would far outweigh the good.
