What if there is rain on your DC day?

We plan on going one day the week after July 4th. I am wondering, what if a lot of the day it is raining and they won't let you into the water? Do you get a different day? Do they ever cancel the day in the event that it rains the whole day? Is there a policy for raining?

Discovery Cove offers the following in the event of a hurricane:

"Peace of mind" Hurricane Policy
In the event a named tropical storm or hurricane approaches Orlando, Tampa, or a guest's hometown, the parks will reschedule or refund any vacation package and/or individual park tickets booked through SeaWorld Vacations, Busch Gardens Vacations, DiscoveryCove.com, SeaWorld.com, BuschGardens.com, or the call center. The parks will not apply any cancellation or change fees for this service.

If its only rain (ie not a hurricane), you'll swim in the rain. They will, however, pull guests out of the water in the event that there is lightening in the area until such time as it has passed to a safe distance.

Storms rarely last all day in Florida in the summertime. They will blow in, it will rain like cats and dogs (and sometimes storm wildly) for 20 minutes to an hour, then the sun comes out again. It would be unusual for there to be a consistently stormy day from DC open to close, unless its hurricane related.

I have a (somewhat) related follow up question. I think I remember seeing that DC will try to accommodate a change to your reservation, even very close to the day of your reservation. Is that the case, and if it is, if it looks like a bad weather front/system will be passing through the day of your reservation and you have the flexibility to push it up or back a day, could you try that? Of course, this would be limited to whether or not DC is sold out on the day you want to move your reservation to...

Yes, that's a good idea. Just in case the weather is forecasted for rain all day.

We went in June 2012 and it was a rainy day nearly the whole day. It didn't stop us doing anything at all at the park. The staff were great and made sure that there were plenty of towels to dry off. The only thing they said was that if there was a potential for lightening they would pull us out. Thankfully this didn't have to happen and when the family came to doing their dolphin encounter the sun shone and it was beautiful.
