What if ride goes down during your FP+ window?

We are a DL family venturing into the new world of FP+

Here, if a ride is down during your FP window, you can return any time later to ride.... what happens with FP+?? Do they give you a FP+ for something else? Can you return later if it's fixed?

You can come back later or ride something else with the fast pass. The cast member will have a list of available attractions.
 
You get an email with a list of the rides that you can use the FP+ on any time of the day.
 
Super easy, this just happened to us last week. When we exited the ride, we were given paper fast passes (ah, the good old days :) ). We received an email notifying that there is a FP to be used a various rides. We just walked up, tapped our MB and we were on the ride.

And we are pros with regular FP here at DL - I'm really excited to already have 3 every day!!! And they are all in the afternoon! Woot!!
 
It depends where you are in the line, and if you already tapped the Mickey heads or not. If you tapped the Mickey heads you get the paper FP. If you didn't, you get an email but I don't think you necessarily get to come back to that ride? Depends on availability
 
This happened to us in January. We had FP+ for Toy Story and it went down about 20 min before our FP window opened. We received an email stating that we could either choose another FP ride/attraction or we could wait and see if Toy Story would be back up and running. If we chose something else, that would use up our FR and we would no longer have a FP for Toy Story.

We decided to walk by Toy Story and see if it was still down. If it was, we planned to go on RNRC instead. Luckily, when we arrived, Toy Story was back up and running so we used our FP.

If you get to the ride and it is closed then you won't need email to tell you the FP has been changed.

Yea the email is the only notification you get. You could ask a CM at the attraction though that's down. They'll have a list of available attractions you can use the FP for that matches what the email will show
 
EasyWDW.com actually has a blog post telling you which experiences you will be offered depending on which ride is down that covers every ride, but I can't find it though. I personally think they should add the option of being able to use it on ANY FP+ offering property wide the next day.
 
This happened on our last trip. We were able to book another FP to take place of the attraction that was down.

Did you get this e-mail at 9:05 or well before? What I'm getting at is, would they send an e-mail if the ride went down 5 hours before your FP? 3 hours? 1 hour?
