Has anyone asked a hotel to allow early check in? Say, 9 or 10am? Thanks.

I asked at Hojos, and they said they would try to get us in then. (at 9am) So time will tell for us!

When I worked at a hotel if anyone wanted to check in before noon they had to pay a half day rate.

It really depends on how busy it gets. You can ask and have it noted on your reservation.

Most hotels will keep your luggage for you if the room is not yet ready. Or if checking out but not ready to leave the area.

HoJo's has a locked room for luggage and they give you a claim tag.

I have done the same at the Marriot by the convention center and at Disneyland Hotel.

It just depends if they have an empty room when you get there. I've never been able to check in early at a Disney hotel, but was able to check in early once at Candy Cane Inn. When we were there in March, we got to Motel 6 very early (6am) because we drove down and they were completely full on Friday so she couldn't get us in. She did say that if she had a room, she would have let us!

It's hit and miss. Most hotels around DL will do it if your room is available. We've checked in early at Hojo's, Tropicana, Del Sol, BWPPI, Parkvue, and PPH, without a finanacial penalty. My sister was able to get her room at 8am at GCH once. Our rooms GCH & DLH weren't ready 'til 3pm. If your room is ready when you check in early, then I'm assuming they'll let you have it. That's been our case. I suppose since check out time is 11am or noon, it may take a little while for housecleaning to get it ready for the next guests. It never hurts to ask. Worse case scenario is they'll say no but will hold your luggage. Don't expect your room to be ready for you when you check in early and think of it as a bonus if it is.

I've done it at every DL Good Neighbor Hotel we've stayed at. Sometimes as early as 5:30am....

It is hit and miss as was said. If you absolutely need to get in the room that early, then you have to pay for it the night before and tell them you have a late arrival and they will hold it. That is the only way to guarantee it!

Otherwise, you could take a room, maybe not the one you wanted, that is clean and ready when you get there if it's available. Out of 6 times at the HOJO, only twice have I been able to check in before 3pm.

If they can't check you in, they should at least hold your luggage, so there's a weight off you at least. You can get around, go over to DTD or something.

I stayed at Disneyland Hotel and asked them also. They told me when I check in they will see what they can do. When I got there at 9:30 am it was not ready and yes they did take my bags and told me to go ahead to disneyland and I keep checking throught the day I finnally got in my room after 4:00 was not happy and this was the (conicer sp) rooms. I paid more so I thought that I could receive this service.

Wrong. Most places will try, but if they are busy, they will hold your luggage. I called last year and requsted early check in.The best they could do was 2PM instead of 4PM. Concierge service is pretty well defined as to what you get. Express check is different than early check in, especially 1/2 day early. Most check outs are around 11PM.

Good luck,

This did happen and I thought that that was wrong but I felt they went out of there way to make sure I didnt get my room until way late. I even set in the concierge room waiting

Yep. If they don't have a (clean) room, they don't have a room. :confused3
