What if I miss the Expo???

It would take quite a snafu to happen, but I don't arrive at WDW until Friday and I'm running the half. My flight should arrive around 1pm, giving me 7 hours to get to the Expo. I am, however, starting to panic and worry about a very delayed flight (so delayed that even a taxi directly from the airport and letting DME handle my luggage doesn't get me to the Expo in time).

Would there be any recourse in such a situation? I know that the likelihood of it happening is quite small (the weather is reported to be clear in both my home city and Orlando), but these are things that come to be at 2am.

For the most part if it is a very limtied issue like a missed flight, aircraft issue, one city with snow, there is no recourse. You miss the expo you miss the race.

Last year the race director allowed race day pick up to folks who were affected by weather delays...note most delays were Orlando created delays so that was a very unique issue.

I would say that if you are really concerned, find someone who will pick up your stuff in the event of a travel snafu. Scan you signed waiver, pick up authorization and ID and email those to that person. If you then have an issue, a simple phone call will allow that person to run to the expo.

I agree that the likelihood of a 7 hour delay is rather remote.

Thanks Coach.

I'm on my own (well, I have friends arriving Saturday), so I'll just hope for no totally weird snafu. In the many, many flights I've taken (enough to have elite status for multiple years), I cannot actually remember ever being delayed 7 hours, so I'm sure that I'll be fine.

If not, I'll still enjoy my WDW vacation.
