What if I can get on an attraction b4 my FP+ time?

I'm going the first week of Sept and hoping it'll be less crowded with kids back in school. My FP+ time for Soaring is 11:05am on Thurs 9/3. What if we get to the park and there is no wait and we go on Soaring early, will a CM be able to cancel my FP+ so I can get another one when my third one is used up?

You can switch out your Soarin' FP for something else in Epcot. That can be done on your smart phone or you could get assistance at a kiosk. You can change it before your last FP is done.

The last time we visited WDW it was during the Magic Band/ fast pass+ testing. We tour at rope drop and it was off season so we frequently were able to ride without a wait or using a fastpass. It was pretty easy to change the fastpass reservation for later in the day, we just had to change it before the fastpass return time was over.

Don't cancel the FP+ reservation. You could:

Ride Soarin again, using the reservation

Or

You can go into MDE (or to a FP+ kiosk) and change that FP+ reservation to another attraction.

-ride it twice, once standby then FP
-Change it to another ride
-cancel it or let it expire

That's the options and really only the first two make sense for this situation

That's not a consideration anymore. (And, I'm not sure that it ever was.)
You can re-book an unused FP+ even after its window has expired.

Ride twice, once in the SB queue & again with the FP
Use the MDE app or kiosk to cancel & change it for something else
Let it expire

IMHO, Soarin is worth riding twice.
