Hi, we ended our trip to WDW with MNSSHP and had a blast. Now on to the hard facts...
The Magic Kingdom did close at 7:00pm with the party starting at 7:00pm too, but there were alot of orange-shirted cast members gently herding people out of the park. And we were asked to show our wristbands when we left the hub to enter fantasyland, so overall Disney did a pretty good job of clearing the park. Plus the rain helped to encourage people to leave. lol
We got to the MK at about 7:00pm and with only a short wait (bag check) we were issued our wristbands and candy collection bags (yay!). DH and I made our way to fantasyland, which was quite empty, and rode on several rides. We then went to Frontierland/Liberty Square and watched the parade, despite pouring rain! We were at WDW from 9/11-9/15 and the ONLY time it really rained (not just sprinkled) was at MNSSHP!
But the parade was awesome, the floats were great and I was amazed that the dancers were so graceful in the rain (it really poured on the first parade).
So then we went to get some goodies. The candy spots were easy to find and gave small hanfuls of various candy, some of them also had photo spots at them too (which kinda slowed things down a bit). We then went on more rides and realized as we exited pirates that the fireworks were starting, the rain had also stopped! So we decided to watch them from adventureland, and actually had a really good view although we could not see the low stuff. The fireworks show was spectacular, I was amazed by the diversity and sheer volume of fireworks used.
Since the rain had stopped we thought that we would watch the parade again, and maybe this time the horseman would ride. So DH and I made our way to the hub where we found a good spot and sat down to wait. While there two very nice cast members taped off a square next to us, and told us we were not allowed to take flash photos of the horseman. Unfortunately a different CM came to stand on the square CM Sara was rather rude and made me take off my glow bracelets. She said they would distract the horse, even thought the lights stayed on!
And despite all the CM requests MANY people were snapping flash photos (almost a continuous flash occured). But that was the calmest horse I had ever seen, I was slightly disappointed that the horseman only moved at a fast walk. There was a break between the horseman and the parade where some CM's walked around and gave out candy and we took this oppurtunity to head out for toontown instead of re-watching the parade.
I made DH go down the Mad Hatter party lane with three candy spots (yum!) and then we exited into Tommorrowland. Where we went on a couple more rides, by now it was 11:00pm and we decided that we did not want to have a long wait for our resort bus. So we slowly made our way out of the MK, doing our last minute gift shopping, as we would be leaving WDW at 7:30am the next morning.
All in all I had a great time at MNSSHP and the only thing I would have changed if I could, would have been to STOP THE RAIN! lol
