What hotels can fit 8 people?

So I find myself in a bit of an unusual position because all of a sudden there is a possibility of yet another trip to Disneyland this time with 4 kids, me, my brother, my sister, and an old friend. What hotels do suites that will fit 8 people and for people that have gone with this large of a group is better to do a suite or just get two rooms? None of us will mind sharing but we need someplace that is going to be decent but cheap. Yeah, I know, just like everyone else in the world. The cheapest I have found so far has been on getawaytoday.com with there third night free promotion. Where else is a good place to look? My sister and our friend will need tickets for 2 days but the rest of us have ap's and will likely stay a couple extra days if we can come up with the money for the hotel. I think the dates will be August 3-5. They might be a day before or later but no more than that because it is all centering around my sisters trip to Utah.

You can try Best Western Raffles. They have family suites, and I would consider them economical. Staybridge Suites has 2-bedroom suites that hold 8 people, the Residence Inn Maingate has a penthouse suite that holds 8 people (I'd go with that if it's available). Maybe the Desert Inn & Suites, but not sure.

You can also try the properties across the street & get two rooms next to each other, and with connecting doors, if possible. If you're just going to use the rooms to sleep, then might be better to get two rooms (might be more economical). But if you're going to hang out, you might want a suite where you'll have a couch, etc., to visit.

My Dsis just last week reserved the Anaheim Plaza Hotel and she is going with group of 8 people. (4 adults and 4 children) They were cheaper than Desert Inn and Suites and had room availability. She isn't going until mid May - so I won't have a report anytime soon (sorry). It is 2 connecting rooms with 4 queen beds and a fridge in each room and micro in one of them. HTH

I think she reserved it for about $138 a night. It was pretty reasonable and about $50-60 cheaper than Desert Inn. So it saved them a bundle.

I've heard good things about the Residence Inn Maingate. My brother and his family stayed there, and I know they have 2 bedroom suites.

Otherwise I think I'd pick the option of 2 rooms across the street-- when possible, it's good to stay in close walking distance. The Plaza, though plain and simple, gets good reviews, and I know Desert Inn has a pretty good sized 2-room suite with a kitchenette.

I'd say HoJo, except that there's no Ent rate currently showing, and in August it's questionable how many dates will show up. If you could get the Ent rate, you could get two connecting or adjacent rooms for $59 or $69 apiece, plus a great swim area for the kids.

We have stayed at RI Maingate numerous times. More than enough room for 8 people. Great breakfast and frr grocery shopping.

Try the Crowne Plaza they have 2 queen beds in each room and they have adjoining rooms. We booked two rooms for $50 each a night on Priceline. The only draw back is you cant walk to the parks and they charge $12.00 a room a day for the Shuttle, Internet, and such. Also there is no refrigerator just a mini bar. Otherwise not a bad deal. If you use the Room service be aware there is 18% gratuitiy and $2.50 service charge added to bill. We got around that by going to the resturant and ordering it to go and taking it back to our room.

We go on Friday and are 6 people staying in a 2 bed. 2 bath suite at the Portofino. I believe that room sleeps 8. I will let you know how it is when we get back.

I'll wait for the report back. Portofino is one of the ones I originally looked at when my family of 6 went.
