We'll be visiting US/IoA Dec. 9th & 10th. Will be coming off a week at Disney at the Polynesian Lagoon View Concierge. So, needless to say, I would like to save a little on a hotel room for one night close to US, but, I do like a NICE, CLEAN room for my family.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I was considering Hard Rock but I can't justify it for one night. Although, the front of the line pass you get staying there is attractive. But, it would only cost me $15 a head extra for that option, right?

Thank you in advance,
Chel

The Express Plus tickets are good for only ONE express ride on each attraction. Staying onsite, you get all day FOTL for the attractions.
I would price the Royal Pacific Resort on site. Don't know if you have AAA, but they sometimes have good discounts.

In October 2004, I stayed at the Holiday Inn Universal Studios. It's across the street from the park (this means about a 0.75 mile walk to the main gates of US and/or IOA). It was clean and the staff was helpful then.

It certainly wasn't the Polynesian, but it was a good enough place to sleep at night. There was also a TGI Fridays on location, so a meal there was cheaper then eating at Citywalk.

The Rosen Center on South I-drive is a great hotel and not too far from Universal.

During those dates FOTL might not be a big plus. That is one of the slowest periods in Orlando. HRH it nice though...but FOTL shouldn't be a huge deal.

We're going to be at WDW the same time you are. We will be at Poly Dec 10-15, leave for DCL Dec 15-18. I booked a room on the 18th at the Clarion on Universal Blvd for $76. They have free shuttle to Universal and IOA and the other parks close by. There is also a trolley for $.75 that will take you up and down the blvd.. I booked on expedia.com. It has some nice pictures... not the Poly but after spending that money, the Clarion is not bad for the money. Have fun!! :bounce: :bounce:

Dec 9 is the first day for Grinchmas, and rooms are booking up for that Thur and Fri night. I'd say stay onsite and book a room now.

During our stay last month, I used Priceline and got 2 rooms at Sheraton Studio City for $43 each. The average rate for that time was $96. We really enjoyed the hotel and we had a view of IOA from our room.
