I'm sure you have all washed somethingthat was not supposed to be washed. Just wondering what kinds of things people have thrown in the washer and how the things fared.

I'll go first. I have washed.....

Nintendo Advance and DS games, a whole pocket full----they survived:thumbsup2

A cell phone---did not survive, even after heroic rescue efforts:rotfl:

USB drive--it survived

MP3 player--it surprisingly survived:banana:

Much money(coins and paper)--it survived and landed in my Disney savings jar, no matter who it belonged to when it went in:woohoo:

Several years ago I washed my paycheck(have direct deposit now). About 2 thirds of it was intact, with the figure and signature legicle. My bank said they'd send it through and see if it went, and everything went through fine.

Cell phone - and no it didn't survive.

I've had a cell phone for 11 years and rarely bothered replacing it even when I was due new phones. I switched carriers and ruined my phone within two months. Man, cell phones are expensive!:headache:

Several years ago, Dh washed DD's hearing aides! :scared1: They cost us $7500! I actually told him that I would kill him if he ruined them. Luckily, they were fine. It's a good thing I didn't have to commit murder! ;)

LOL, I forgot about ink pens and gum, yuck! Talk about a mess!

I washed ds's cell phone. It went through the whole wash cycle. Then when the cloths went in the dryer I heard an annoying 'clunk, cluck, cluck'... that's when I discovered it. So dh took out the battery we let it dry for two days and when we put it back together...
it was fine! Sim was fine. He used it another two years!

I've also recently washed a dry clean only polyester pantsuit. I was tired of paying to have it cleaned and said if it doesn't work I'll just toss it. Came out fine... dryer too... no problem.

My ATM card has gone through the washer on more than one occasion...:rolleyes1 I wonder how that happened????

Anyway - it works fine in the ATM's where you swipe the card, because I can hold it straight. It works so-so on the ATM's where you insert the card.

This is something I accidentally DRIED. DS was two, and just before I shut the dryer door, he must have thrown a whole avocado into a load of dh's whites. I turned it on and left the house. When I opened it later, all dh's white's were green, as if I had rubbed them very hard in the grass. All that was left of the avocado was the pit and some small dried up bits of peel.

I called the Era company and asked what I should do to get the stains out, they told me to use Biz! It worked and all the whites came out perfect.

Went to a store and DS2 (at the time) took his hearing aid off, we thought it was lost. Looked everywhere, gave it up for lost. Later washed his clothes. Hearing aid washed and dried without realizing it had been caught up in his shirt.

It survived. It's amazing because our audiologist says you just never know.

I feel your pain about those darn hearing aids everytime one gets misplaced or mishandled, I think I'm going to kill someone.:rotfl:

Love it!

Let's see.....

DBF's wallet -- and everything in it --- some things inside survived, some did not. :headache:

Zippo Lighter -- nope. Sent it of to have repaired...the repair center liked that story. :lmao:

Bluetooth -- nope.

Lots of money -- survived to go in the change jar. :rolleyes1

Ink pens -- nope

Tools of various sorts -- sockets, wrenches, drill bits -- They all survived

Matches -- they survived, but never lit.

In short--- if they don't clean out their pockets--it gets washed..and more than likely dried!!!! :rotfl:

Our audiologist was surprised! Thank goodness the hearing aides were on the shirt! DD use to take them off outside! :scared1: Thank goodness she is 8 and doesn't do that anymore.

Gucci watch-twice!:scared1:
Then it was stolen by the pool at the Poly after overcoming laundering!:guilty:

A USB drive.

DH and I are bad about putting clothes in the dryer and forgetting about them, as we usually wash the important stuff first and already have it.

We finally, three weeks later, went down to get the clothes and voila! there was our USB drive..

...eta..

It survived.
