What have you seen people do that was too much like they were home?

we just bought into DVC. During the presentation when the housekeeping schedule was explained, we asked about garbage. Our guide actually told us to put it outside the door. We would have done that thinking we were doing the right thing, not knowing we were offending or being looked down upon by others by doing so.

We will make sure to seek out the garbage rooms to avoid any nasty grams. :thumbsup2

Your guide said? But what did the bus driver say? :rotfl:

People peeing outside at a resort is wrong. Unintentionally leaving your garbage outside the door is an honest mistake.

Thanks for the info, I thought it was us just being unaware/ blind....but we really didn't see any signage re trash rooms at BLT.
Just want to be prepared for next visit in september as we dont want people having a go at us re leaving our trash out in the hallway.:thumbsup2

thanks again

I think they are on the odd numbered floors

Last month we stayed at Vero Beach (love that place!), we had a small problem with these older kids trying to smart off at my youngest who was doing nothing. These kids were shocked when I confronted them and sorted them out. My wife teaches ESE middle school and I teach at risk students in high school so we have no problem sorting kids out of ALL ages. We can smell'em!

LOVE this! Not the obnoxious behavior, of course, but your comfort at dealing with it! As a middle school teacher of almost 30 years, I know exactly how you feel! I sometimes have to "hold back" from correcting bad behavior wherever I am! lol

I've got to agree with the ones who said letting a child scream for an extended period of time. I once had people in the villa next to me who had a child screaming for at least three hours if not longer. I think it was well after 1 AM when the child finally stopped. For most of that time the parents were loudly arguing about the fact that the child wouldn't stop screaming in a foreign language.

My biggest peeve is the people who flip the safety lock bar to keep the door from closing completely and proceed to enter & exit the villa every two minutes letting the door slam behind them each & every time. Add to that the villa being full of teenagers with no adult supervision and it's after 1AM and your friend is trying to sleep before having to get up at 4AM for their return flight home.

Walking down the hallway and people are heading toward you 2 or 3 across and not one of them have the common courtesy to move aside to allow you to pass in the other direction.

Parents that allow their kids to play in the hallways, running & screaming, bouncing balls against the walls, throwing balls, frisbees, etc. no matter what time it is.

I was amazed at some of the posts that I was reading! Some were really funny and some were disgusting! Was at a barbeque last night and was telling about the nail clipping at GF, pumicing in the hot tub, dishwasher races down the hall and the guy going to his car in his boxers to name a few. One friend said, thank God he did not have his "tidywhities on". Loved the no one over 5 in pjs. But peeing on the grass, that is just wrong!

We have seen the trash in the hall and I never quite got why not take it to the trash room. Fortunately, we have been lucky. We have friends that totally "take over" the room with their clothes where ever they stay. I have seen the spitting the the grass or picking their nose but I must be at the wrong place at the right time to miss some of these!

Would like to see what they really do at home. I know the old story, I'm on vacation and will never see these people again but you never know! These brought a few OMGs!, a couple of laughs and new insight on what people will do!

Thanks for starting this thread! Great! Really got an education on this and will start being a little more alert! :wave2:

Just returned from a weekend trip at Kidani and this was so gross. Spent some time hanging out in the pool there and there were several people who thought it was ok to spit water or just spit in the pool. Others who thought it was ok to sneeze into the water of the pool instead of covering their mouth/nose and one guy who not only spit into the water but also kind of blew his nose into the water.

WTHeck people! This is a public pool not the ocean. If you want to do that in your own pool go ahead but please don't do that while I'm in the water.
I know that they put a ton of chemicals in those pools but for real? Have some manners.

Needless to say, I did not stay in the pool. :)

I am pretty surprised to see some of the complaints on this list!

First, I will say we were at BCV last week and I can say with 100% certainty that the "trash expectations" were not addressed. So saying that info is given at check in, is false. I have seen housekeeping place trash in the the hallway with my own eyes.

Sleeping in the lobby? I've never done it but I wouldn't look down on someone for it. :confused3 A baby cried for 20 minutes one night? Have you never had a baby? They cry! Especially at Disney after a long day hauled around the parks in the heat! My kids are way past baby stage now, and we never had that issue with our own kids when traveling - but I wonder what the parents of a crying baby should do? Get them up at 1am and leave the hotel to be sure as to not disturb other people? That's a hazard of traveling, crying kids.

Now, people in underwear or pajamas in the marketplace or a nude lady laying on the bed with the curtains open - I will give you those. But the rest all come with the territory of traveling, Disney or anywhere else! :flower3:

When my kids were very young around 4-5 yrs old we were staying at the Contemporary in a lake front room. We came back in the room and the kids went to the window to watch the boats. My son started yelling there is a naked man sitting on the rocks. My daughter yells and a naked woman too. At this point DH and I go to the window. Sure enough there are two very large people sunbathing on the rocks and looked to be naked. Just as DH picked up the phone to call Security we realized these two individuals had thong suits on and unfortunately for us the suits were hidden by body parts :confused3.I could not believe these two individuals were in public like this. My kids still wonder when we go to WDW if we will see naked people. My kids are now 15 and 16.:lmao:

I did want to mention the guy at BCV pool who took up seven lounge chairs.
As well as a table and four chairs. 11 Chairs total.
For hours it was him and two children. He was then joined by his wife and one or two more kids and proudly told her how he had "grabbed" the extra chairs and the table because"he did not know what the others wanted to do when they get back from the parks"

When the rest of his group showed up 3 adults they were there for all of ten minutes and never used the chairs he so proudly saved for them.

During this time the pool was very crowded and several people asked if the chairs were occupied. It is Very rude to do this especially when you see a family with small children with no where to sit.

I really think that they should be more aggressive in cleaning off chairs that are "saved "for hours. IMHO if there is folded unused pool towel and one flip flop and it is unused for 45 minutes it should be cleared. I also love the one crappy noodle covering 4 chairs .

Also when you are done please take the towels to the towel drop and make it clear that the chairs are open.

I would have just taken the loungers I needed, and told the "hoarder" that he could negotiate with me, when my 2 loungers were the last 2 he needed. .. after one hour.. no negotaition necessary

We were at Vero Beach Resort in early October and someone wheeled a luggage cart all the way from the main lobby to the pool area and used it to hold an Ice chest full of beers.

My neighbor does that - only he goes out in the morning to get his newspaper in his boxers. I swear he resembles Fred Flintstone. Then there is the man who lives just around the corner from "Fred" whom I have seen cutting his grass with a chainsaw - twice.

I've just got to ask what city you live in!

We were checking in at SSR and the woman in front of me was combing her daughter's hair and pick stuff out of he hair. Me and the person next to me just looked at each other. eeew when I got to the checkin desk I used my own pen.

A (noisy) soccer game in the hall at Kidani was probably the worst we experienced on our most recent vacation.

How about those who reserve lounge chair by pool by placing one flip flop ,a newspaper,or a bottle of sunscreen and a hotel towel on it.And returning hours later?

On the recent DVC cruise, we saw people walking around in the robes from the concierge room...umm, I'm hoping they had clothes on but that isn't a swimsuit cover up.
Also, speaking of "People of WDW", I can't tell you how many times I've seen someone who I want to have a clothing intervention with. lol
Oooh, and the ladies in the inappropriate cocktail dresses on the cruises. Please save your streetwalking clothes for home. ugh

I did not mention one of mine older woman in a bra on balconey smoking .

Or a father cheering as two boys raced thier remote controled cars down the long hallways of BWV at about 10 PM.

Oops I'm sorry I didn't mean to step on it. :confused3

I think I saw that same guy! :) he also jumped the fence around the pool area when it opend to get the "ideal" spot.

A few years back, I had to get up at 2:00 AM to get to the airport to get my flight to Orlando. My room at BWV wasn't ready until 4:45. I admit it -- I fell asleep in the lobby.

Where are semi-hidden locations in which to snooze at BWV? I know of several at BCV but none at BWV.

AT BWV Outside rocking chairs with a baseball cap and sun glasses works. Pool lounge chair (weather permitting) or the bar/breakfast area off the lobby when its not open are all good places to relax the eyes.

Stretching out on in a prone position is just not an acceptable planned option in a lobby.

Is this bad? As long as it wasn't in glass, I don't see an issue.
