What have you lost in the parks?

Hmmmmmm, after reading this, I think I'm going to tape a note to my digital camera saying "If found, please call ***-****" May not work, but if someone honest finds it, maybe they'd make the effort to help me get it back. Being a mom of two boys, it's practically become habit to write our phone number on all expensive items that they may take out of the house.

Last January my daughter lost her digital camera that she had gotten for Christmas. It fell out of her pocket on ToT. She knew she had it right before that because she had taken a picture. As soon as we got off the ride she knew it was missing. So we walked from ToT to Lost and Found at the front of the park and in true Disney fashion, the lost camera was already there waiting to be reclaimed!

We were at wdw in November. My daughter had a hat that we had worked all week on getting signatures. Saturday, our last day in the parks she left it on one of the buses. My husband filled out a sheet at TTC wih all the identification he could think of - Saturday after we returned home it arrived in the mail. She was thrilled (and so were we). There was also a nice note.

Seeing these post are reminding me of other stuff we have lost: hats, pins, shirts & my own dd5 for a very brief scary moment...

BTW: we have also been able to recover lots of our stuff from L&F...so, at least there are many good folks out there that are looking out for each other

I lost my adulthood a number of times. Never really had the desire to look for it though!

I use those address labels I get in the mail. Rip off a few and toss them in your fanny pack to bring with. Stick them on everything - camera, camera bag, tags on coats or sweatshirts, lanyards, fannypack, backpack, containers with pennies and quarters (for you pressed penny people...) I try to put on as many as possible before I leave.

This trip I am going to print my own with my resort name on as well.

I lost my Mom for about an hour and a half at Epcot. When I did finally find her she was about half crazed with grief, she honestly thought someone had kidnapped me and my DS. I was 31 y/o at the time-

We do the same thing. A couple of trips back we left DS's med kit at Cape May Cafe and didn't realize it until we had walked to Test Track. By the time I hoofed it back to the Cafe, it had been handed over to the Beach Club front desk. Turns out that the staff there had contacted several of our friends and family members from the contact list inside and they all knew it was missing before we did! Disney Castmembers amaze me!

I changed the lens on my Canon Rebel, and at some point the reg. lens fell from bag (as well as a roll film that had the cutest pics of my 3 yr old and Safari Mickey).

Now I have to take all my pics standing WAAYYYY back since the zoom lens is the only one I have.

I didn't even thinkabout lost and found.

In my 7 months of working at disney I lost a brand new watch, 5 pins, and a roll of film. I found alot of stuff as well though. Everything we found was stored in our lost & found area inside the resturant. Twice a day one of our cashiers would usually walk it to the front. It was always interesting to look in that box that's for sure. The one rule that was most important and drilled into us if we found a purse/fanny pack/back pack was to go through it with another CM to make sure we documented everything. Bags with valuables were either stored in the locked portion or in the managers office. I loved giving someone back an item they had lost, it was my favorite part of the job.

in the AAA lounge in MK. It was several hours later that he remembered he left in on the table by the couch. My DH went back, but it was closed by then. Went back the next day, different staff, took his name, address and description of item. Three week later, same item returned in mail! The Magic of Disney


Classic stories here guys, ROFL!!!

It would not be possible for me to lose my sanity in WDW, it's been gone for years!!!

Hi,

I left our camcorder on a bench while we
were waiting to ride the boat from MK back
to FW. Once I realized it, I went back down
to the next boat and asked about it. They
radioed the other boats and the cm's at
the dock and no one new anything about
it. So I called Guest services at MK and
they didn't have it. Everyone said wait a
day or so and call Lost & Found, so I had
pretty much resigned myself that it was gone.

That night was an e-night at MK and it was
raining bad so we got a late start to MK.
I asked the CM's on the boat about it and
they radioed again but no one knew
anything. So once in MK we went by
Guest Services and asked one more time
and this time the cm came out with our
camera. Boy was that a relief and were
we lucky. A big thank you to the person
who turned it in.

Just goes to show that what rtwhite said
about KEEP ASKING is correct you just
never know.
