And found the best deals.

Here is the story. I signed up for the free trial of Amazon Prime, which will expire this week, and my CC will be charged the yearly fee. I've ordered books, dvds, games for the kids over the years, but not tons of stuff. I think this is probably because I don't think of amazon first--KWIM.

I thought maybe if I heard from others, a:idea: lightbulb might go off, and make me think of all the great deals I can get, therefore making the prime membership worth paying for.

Does that make any sense? TIA

BTW- The things I've bought this month

Keurig Cups (which could get dangerous)
netbook, and upgraded memory
a couple of books, and DVDs for gifts

My prime membership is so awesome.

If I need something overnighted, it cost me $4. Otherwise it'll be here in 2 days for free.

My mom was dying of cancer last year during this time. I was with her, and we were still able to get Christmas presents for everyone she wanted to buy for using my laptop and Amazon. She was really sad thinking that she wouldn't have time to get anything for my daughter, her only grandchild. She thought it was so cool to buy all these presents and them be at her house in two days without having to pay crazy shipping costs. So that was worth it in itself last year.

I've bought really expensive camera equipment and had it the next day b/c I just couldn't wait, and what's $4 when you're spending $1500?

So I definitely feel like I get my money's worth, with all the shopping I do.

We love out Prime! Recently, we bought a netbook, halloween costumes, coffee pods for our Tassimo, books, video games...I can't wait to finish holiday shopping, it's so easy this way!:thumbsup2

I get mostly books
I have gotten electronics and DVDs and a coffee pot.
It may not always be the cheapest -but it is competitive and reading reviews can sometimes have a big impact on my choices. Things you would not know just by reading the side of the box.

Some of the best deals I've gotten at Amazon were shoes. $75 Teva sandals for $30. I recently found some SoftWalk shoes at a great price there. I got a vacuum cleaner for less than $100 (cheaper than it was running in the stores). I got a Pentax compact camera that normally retailed over $300 for less than $100.

I honestly can't remember all the great deals I've gotten, but so many that Amazon is the first place I check when I'm shopping for something online.

I love my Prime, and to me its worth every penny. There have been a few times where Amazon has had a price mistake which made for a fantastic deal. With Prime, it sometimes ships before its caught :rolleyes1
Thats not the real reason I love it though. I buy from Amazon all the time, from grocery items, health and beauty items, toys, books, etc. Right before Christmas, they have had amazing sales on their toys and I have been able to order right up until a few days before Christmas and get my stuff on time.
I figure if I were to buy from them 10 times a year I would pay $80 in shipping anyway. Being that I buy grocery items it would be more because of the weight of some of the stuff, so it pays for itself within months.

Another Prime member here! It's totally worth it. I'll often buy a book for less than $10, and having it shipped with no sales tax is wonderful!! It's good for impulse purchases, as I don't need to come up with a $25 total for 5-day shipping.

I love my Prime too. Anytime I need anything at all, I check out Amazon to see if they carry it. Often the price is the same or cheaper as elsewhere, but with FREE shipping. I do enough online shopping that it has more than paid for it self several times. :thumbsup2

I love Amazon. Just ordered the Blu-Ray discs of Up & Monsters Inc and saved $10 because I bought them together. I bought Beatles Rock band the the 2 cd boxed sets from Amazon too. It's so much simpler than going to a retail store and dealing with poor customer service, crowds, parking, etc.

Just got a Keurig about a week ago so I'll be ordereing K cups from Amazon as well.:)

I love Amazon! I don't have the prime membership though, i usually just go for the free standard shipping.

i buy books, dvds, wii games, keurig cups, grocery items, cd's, toys, and i also bought a juicer.

Unless you need to do alot of overnight shipping, Prime is not worth it. For everything I order I use the free Super Saver shipping. As long as your order is over $25 there is no shipping charge.

I order alot and had the Prime for a year.

What is Prime? How much? Benefits? Do you get lower prices?

I do shop at Amazon but they don't always have the lowest prices. For instance, last night I bought 2 ceiling fans online. After MUCH comparing of prices around the web, I found that if I bought them from Amazon, I was going to be charged big bucks for shipping - they were coming from another store.

Well, when I went to that stores website directly, the shipping was free for orders over a certain amount. And I was well over that amount.

Also, their return policy was easier than Amazons.

After checking out the online ratings for the seller, I bought them directly from the fan website. Not thru Amazon.

Using many shopping / price comparison search engines, I did find a few places where they sold for even less, but I didn't like the reviews / ratings for those sellers, so I passed on them.

I love my prime membership, use it constantly. Can't imagine christmas shopping without it!

We have had prime for a couple of years now and we love it! With DS away at college, if he needs something quickly, it is very easy to order off amazon prime and have it shipped to him - free 2 day shipping.

We have bought tons of stuff from Amazon including a cat carrier, Advantage flea treatment, netbook, computer mouse, books (including textbooks), GPS, and dozens of other things. We don't have to worry if the order is over $25 or not. It gives you free 2 day shipping. I think it costs $79/year. We have gotten our money's worth.

I don't even know what prime is, but I've never had to pay shipping for anything. I've always gotten it free.

I've bought 3 GPS systems on 2 separate occasions. I bought 2 Serta or Sealy foam bed toppers and got a great deal on them (saved like $100 off each). Other than that, it's been mostly DVDs and video games.

There is a digital SLR and lens combo in the Best Buy ad for $200 more than I just paid on amazon. To be fair Best Buy's comes with a backpack.:rolleyes1
