I may be losing my mind but I'm always second guessing my vacation choices.

I booked HIFS back in january for 1 week in june. We've stayed there before and loved it......the 2 BR was a little tight but our 3 dd's (then 5,6 & 8) fit ok in the Bunks & "wall" bed. Now the kids are older and taller and I know the 12 yr. old cant fit in those beds and using the sofa bed, while ok, just takes up too much room when its open. I've been going back and forth with this.

This morning i woke up.......did a search on cypress point.......lots of good info/reviews. I Booked a 3 BR. I'm still holding the HIFS ressie.

AM I CRAZY?

Like i said we loved HIFS.....but we need room. Obviously, the Free Breakfast is a real $ saver - but I dont mind doing a little cooking. We are not doing WDW just UO/IOA & Seaworld. Booked 1 night at RPR for FOTL so we won't need to do the parks commando style every day. This trip will probably have more down time and I think we'll be more comfy at CP. (Plus, I THINK they have a shuttle to UO so we can split up without worrying about transportation.)

HIFS $800 for the week
CP $650 for the week

WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

I read every post on CP - lots of info and I'm confused about room requests etc. Any help appreciated.

Go with CP. My kids also love HIFS but we try somewhere new every time and the extra room sure comes in handy. From everything I have seen of CP it looks great.

Without a doubt, I would take 3 br at CP!

You can walk over to the nearby grocery store and buy milk and Krispy Kremes for breakfast!

Stayed in a 2Br Grande Villa with 5 people, and we loved it there. Especially for the price.

thanks for the replies.

a few ?????'s for those of you who have stayed at CP (not GV)

I booked through hotel kingdom. They emailed me the receipt for my deposit and in a seperate email a hotel kingdom conf.# and tracking #. I don't have ANYTHING from CP. how do I know I have a "real" reservation that CP will honor?

What bldg. or room should we request? Do i do that now or upon arrival?

I know the kitchens are stocked but is everything in good condition. do I have any recourse if they are not? (I hate cruddy pots and pans etc. :crazy2: )

Directions from MCO?

Anything else i need to know or do? Any tips? HELP! I am so nervous.

I think you're making the right choice by staying at CP. I made a reservation at HIFS for June, but I'm cancelling it as well. We stayed there four years ago and loved it. My kids are now 4 and 7 and would still fit in the bunks this year, but there are so many other places out there so much cheaper that also look nice. The money you save on the room will more than make up for the free breakfast, especially if you take advantage of the full kitchen and buy some breakfast foods.

We seriously considered CP as well -- their volcano pool looks awesome, which your kids will love, I bet. I don't think HIFS's new pool is opening until later in June. We're staying at Embassy Grand Beach instead -- great location for WDW, new fun pool, more spacious rooms -- about $715 for the week. I'm hoping I made the right choice too, but I feel pretty good about it.

We stayed at CPGV in April (you check in at the same building as CP, they are just across the street from each other). I can only help w/2 things - there is not a shuttle to any parks and we also booked thru hotel kingdom. We did not receive any confirmation from them, just the emails from HK. We have booked many trips with them and have never had a problem. Good Luck!

Thanks 2minnies! I feel better about the confirmation stuff.

I know you stayed at GV but could you recommend a bldg or room at CP?

I saw on the CP website a comparison chart between the 2 resorts. It said they have shuttles to disney, universal & the airport.

We went with many of the same concerns you have.

We booked thru hotelkingdom.com as well and had no problems checking in. Found all personell to be polite and friendly and we were not treated as second class because of the low rate.

The kitchen was fully equipped and all utensils were completely clean, as was the enire condo.

Here is a link to a site map and floor plan:Site Map

Buildings 1 thru 3 were completely renovated this spring are would be the ones to pick, but they seem to keep those for owners so don't expect one. We were in building 7, not renovated, but everything was clean and in good shape.
(Buildings A thru G are CPGV)

From MCO: Bee Line (528) to I-4 (West Tampa), exit 68 - 535 north, go 0.8 mile and you will see the sign for Cypress Pointe.

I can e-mail pictures if you p.m. with your e-mail address.

Not sure about shuttles. We didn't use any and didn't see any either.

johnnyoldboy - i sent you a pm! Cant wait to see the pics!

Thanks for the directions.

Glad to know everything was clean. We usually rent beach houses and i bring my own pots, pans etc. because some renters don't care about it if its not theirs. ya know? yuk!

if you have any other tips or info I'll be glad to take them! Let me know!!!!

Our experience with beach houses has included some pretty sorry housekeeping. We haven't had that at the better timeshare resort properties in the Orlando area... Cypress Point's reputation is much better than that and I would not worry a bit.

Your children will be about 9, 10 & 12. IMHO, these are better ages for CP than for HIFS. Have a fun vacation!

Thanks LisaP!

Anyone have any Cypress point do's and don'ts? I'll take all the info I can get.

I am especially interested in knowing when i should make any special requests regarding rooms.
now? upon checkin?

curly

I called cypress point directly to confirm my ressie. They did have me in the computer...Yeah! The girl told me to call back a day or two in advance of checkin to make any special requests. She did ask me if any one in my party had mobility problems. I said no and she proceeded to tell me there were no elevators and some units are on the 3rd floor. I knew this already (from the dis ;) )

What floor would you all recommend. And is there anything else i should be asking for?

I am really excited about staying somewhere different this time! :hyper: :hyper: Can you tell? :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

If you are a map peron, make sure you have one. It's not as easy to find as you think. The area around WDW is so built up that you need a map. It is a close drive to DownTown Disney. The buildings are pretty much the same, sort of a compact area. I wouldn't think one is better than any other. You park right outside your building. We booked a Grand Villa, sight unseen, for New Years, at a great rate, and we were very happy.
