What has been your cheapest trip to Disney?

Cheapmom -

It is a really fun age.....I cannot wait to see her expression when we at WDW......she loves to be in crowds and just take everything in!!!

Have a great trip!!

In 1994, I used Apple Vacations to book a trip for 3 offsite. For 6 nights, a really nice resort-hotel (called wilson world, but it's now something else), airfare, park hopper tickets, and a rental car, the trip cost us $990. Unbelievable, huh? This didn't include food or anything, but i think we budgeted something like $100 per day, and pretty much stayed in that budget. Oh, we also went to two character meals.

That's a far cry from today's prices. I called Apple last trip to see what they could do, and that price wasn't even close. I've planned this trip without a travel agent, but I think we're close to $3500, or so, and we're not even flying!

My cheapest trip was around $75. That $75 was for lunch for 4 at Wispering Canyon and dinner for 4 at Pecos Bills. :p The trip was over this past New Years and was a gift from my parents so that kept the cost down a lot. ;) They had just bought an RV and wanted to take it out so we planned a last minute trip. Ft Wilderness was full already since we planned so last minute so we stayed at a campground in Kissimmee (Sherwood Forrest). They were going to buy us 5 day hoppers and DH and I ended up tossing in the extra $ to make up the difference and get APs for ourselves and DS since we were already planning to go in May of this year. I didn't count that $ in the budget for this trip b/c I included it in the budget for the spring trip. ;) My Dad has already booked us at Ft Wilderness this year for a second trip. They only used 2 days on their hoppers so we will go back again and enjoy our APs as the expire. We'll spend our last day at Sea World since our APs will have expired and DSs and I will have done 25 park days this year on the APs by the time we retire them.

Our spring trip came in at around $1700 for a 9 day trip. We live in the Atlanta area so we drove. We lucked out in finding 2 different gas stations having "grand opening" specials so we spent a total of $85 on gas for the trip. We only had to spend the difference between a 5 day hopper and an AP on tickets. We spent 1 night at Hotel Royal Plaza in a deluxe tower room w/ DTD view on a $59 mousesaver rate then 5 days at VWL using rented DVC points and 2 nights at the Wyndham Palace in DTD that I reserved using Priceline for $46/night. We used vouchers for some but not all of our meals. We spent less than $125 on souvineers. Our kids had plenty from Grammy from the last trip and all they wanted was a monorail set. DS (then 3, going on 4) had been given Disney Dollars for "allowance" and gifts and had saved enough to buy it. We're not big souvineer people. The pictures and memories are the souvineers I want most. :) I guess where some people go nuts on souvineers, we tend to go more out on meals. We did at least one sit down per day, usually 2. That's DH's "thing," when on vacation he wants to do something special and for him that means good dining. :p
