Just wondering what happens to these deck parties if its raining... :umbrella:
Like the Sail-away party or Pirates night?
How do they handle a cruise if its mostly rain????

:sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

It did rain a little at ours in Aug. They just went on with it. But this was not a big drenching rain either. We still had a blast! :flower:

Sailaway is held indoors in the Atrium Lobby when the weather is bad enough. Wasn't as special as the outdoor version, but they did a good job with the Sailaway Party considering what they had to work with.

On our 4-day WonderMoon last year, on the day at sea, there was a big rainstorm. However, Captain Henry just kept skirting around the edge of the storm all afternoon. Then, when the majority of people cleared off the decks to get ready for early dinner/show time, they swung a hard left and drove through it. By the time the late shows were done, we were through the storm and we could go out and enjoy the open decks.

Very cool, I think.

If it rains at the Sail Away Party it is not very much fun.
We have cruised 5 times and have had 2 rain outs.
Sailaway is held indoors in the Atrium Lobby and it is too crowed too loud and just takes away from the starting of the cruise. Although our August cruise we didn't even sail until 6:45 so that didn't even matter.
The sailaway parties on deck are just great, really gets you in the mood.

Didn't know they could do that! Guess that's what makes a good Captain!

For our tropical deck party last summer, they moved into the Atruim. I don't think it was actually raining at party time, but it had been raining off and on all evening and the decks were pretty wet. It was still really fun inside! Lots of singing and dancing. :cool1:  :dancer:

the only time we had "bad weather" (4 different sailings)was at ports....all other times the captain did "skirt" the storm. On our 11/03 Eastern sailing we caught the tail end of a late year hurricane. I kept watching the weather channel and checking weather.com in the internet cafe and it was amazing how we just stayed on the out skirts of the storm......the weather was very windy and 26 foot swells at time, but very little rain.......
