What happens when Fantasmic is cancelled because of weather?

We will be visiting WDW next October and if it's like this October, Fantasmic will only be shown two nights per week. I'm just wondering what happens if the show is cancelled because of bad weather? Do they re-schedule for the next night or do you have to wait until the next show scheduled for that week?

Well, they have been adding dates sometimes, I know next week there is at least one night that has 2 shows that started with only one. Anywho, if it cancels I'm 99% sure it just happens on the next scheduled day/time combo.

Generally, you just have to wait until the next scheduled show. Remember that Fant!, unlike the other fireworks shows, involves a lot of CMs. Performers, stunt people, characters, techs, etc. -- not all of those folks can be instantly rescheduled to the next night. Occasionally, if several shows in a row have been cancelled due to weather (tropical storms, e.g.), they'll work to add a show on a normally non-Fant! day, but generally, you're just waiting for the next regularly scheduled evening.

Many thanks and that's exactly what a I need to know. It will probably only be showing for two of the nights that we will be there so I'd better plan on seeing the first night in case it gets cancelled. That way, we will still have another night to see it.

Fantasmic rarely gets cancelled for rain. It has to be raining at the time of the showing (making the stage unsafe) and they won't call the show off until 10-15 minutes befor time. So you will need to be IN the theater to find out. And just b/c the 1st one is cancelled doesn't mean they will cancel the 2nd one, if the rain lets up they will perform. They also can perform the show in a modified version (cutting out some of the stunts and making it safter for performers), which is more common than cancellations.

The last time we went to see Fantasmic it was cancelled at the last minute due to lightning that seemed pretty far off in the distance to me, but I understand that they don't take chances.

They started the show and all I remember of it was the "Drip, drip, drop, little April showers" song from Bambi. Then they sent everyone home with apologies. Bummer, but oh well, it happens.

They were giving us warning notices while we waited that the show MIGHT be cancelled, but we didn't know for sure until the show started... and abruptly ended.

I was just wondering is it ever cancelled for cold weather or windy conditions?

When we were there in '08 it poured during the time of the performance and it was cancelled, but a later showing was added, so instead of seeing it at 7, it was performed at 9. It was an EMH night but guests without bands were allowed in to F!. Park had closed to day guests at 8.
