What happens to your ADR's when...

Unfortunately it looks like our oldest grandson will not be able to go on our trip in September. It is a blended family situation. If we call DVC and remove him from the room, what happens to any ADR's he is listed on? I need to figure out what order to do everything in. We are coming upon our day to schedule FastPass+. If I do not assign a ticket to him, can I still book the FastPass+ for everyone else? How do I get him removed from our ADR's? It is during free dining and canceling the ADR's is really not an option. We will never get decent times or restaurants this late in the game. But I really do not want to have an empty chair reminding us that he is not there. That would probably drive my DSIL crazy. Can we just leave him on the room reservation and ADR's and just notify everyone as we go along that he is not there and to remove his chair. Yikes! What to do?!?

You don't need to do anything with the ADRs. Just tell the CM at the restaurant podium how many guests you have in your party that night. You can still make all of your FPs for everyone else.

Nothing. Why would they assume he's not just staying somewhere else. Anybody, on site or off site, can make ADR's.

Great! I was just concerned because My Disney Experience picked up the names from our room reservations for choices of who to assign to each ADR. So when I made ADR's I chose him from a drop down for each ADR. I just wondered if I removed him from the room reservation, what would happen to that ADR's he was assigned to. Sounds like nothing. That is great to know. It sounds like I can just keep him on the room reservation and still book FastPasses for everyone else. All good news. Thanks!

Sorry, one last question. What about ADR's like breakfast at Akershus? Will I be charged if we show up with one less person? Hope that makes sense. I think that is the only guaranteed pay that we did.

Akershus isn't a pre-paid meal. If you do have any pre-paid meals, then you will need to call and remove the extra person.

Awesome! For some reason I thought it was prepaid. It is beginning to look like I don't need to do anything. I just need to make sure that I let them know when we check in that we have one less person and ask if the extra chair can be removed. We are going from 10 to 9 people. That empty chair will put a real damper on meals. Thanks!
