What happens to my points if i switch resort?

I am looking at booking a trip for the first two weeks of May 2012.

Our home resort is SSR which we can book now. However we dont have enough points to stay there in our Sept 2011 UY. So in order to make the reservation i will need to borrow some from my Sept 2012 UY.

However we would love to switch our ressies to OKW. We do have enough points for this in our 2011 UY.

So my question is if i book SSR today and then at the 7 month window successfully swap over to OKW what happens to the points they took from my 2012 UY to make the reservation?

I think they go to my 2011 UY but wanted to check

Your borrowed points will remain 2011 UY points. What you HAVE to do is if/when you're able to switch, make sure that MS applies your borrowed points to your new OKW reservation first, and for the balance of the points needed have them use 2011 points. It's 50/50 as to whether or not the CM would do this without you saying anything - not that they're out to get you but some just don't think about it.

From there, if you aren't planning to use/rent/transfer the rest of your Sep 2011 UY points by Aug 2012, bank the 2011 points into 2012.

Unless I were booking a GV I would not be borrowing 2012 points that you probably won't need when you switch. Odds are very good you'll get in to OKW at 7 months at that time of the year. At the most I'd book only the days at SSR that will use 2011 points as I think you'll also have no problem adding any additional days there if by some odd chance you can't get the OKW reservation.

Thats a good idea Kathy, as the 7 month window isnt too far away i will wait and see whats available on that day!

When my mom was alive, we always did a Mother's Day trip the first or second week of May at OKW, 1 bedroom. I never had a problem at 7 months.
