What happens if you have a reservation for 3 people and only 2 show up?

My DH might not be able to make the trip due to business and that would leave 2 of us for all the ADR's I have made for 3 people. We leave mid-May.

I think there is no problem - at least that is what the CM told me. I made our reservations months ago for 3 since I didn't know if DH was going to come or not. But it is just my DD and I. I really don't want to try and modify the reservations because I am afraid the CM might mess them up (like cancelling my reservations for 3 before we had the reservation for 2 leaving me with nothing).

PS We are leaving in 10 days

we have never, ever had a problem and have often showed up with an extra person or 1 or 2 less.

The only time this would be a problem is if it is for a meal that you have had to reserve with a credit card (CRT, Akershus, and a few others). If you had reservations for 3 and only 2 show up, even if you're on the DDP, your credit card would be charged for one meal.

Last December I had reservations for 4 to CRT. One person decided not to come, but the restaurant gave me a full refund for the one person in the form of a Disney Gift Card. I want to add I wasn't on the DDP.

They pick someone from the single diners line to sit and eat with you!

OMG. I would LOVE if some of the more popular restaurants would do this. I go solo all the time. I can just see it now: I'm walking around Epcot and decide to have lunch at Le Celier with no ADR at 12noon. :lmao:

I've shown up 'light' at the california grill twice, and never had a problem. Has anyone actually been charged in this case?

We've shown up with fewer people many times and it's never been a problem. Showed up with more a few times and it was only a problem once at Le Cellier because the ADR was for 2 and we showed up with 6. Well, you can't blame me for trying! :lmao:

I think this would actually be a great idea. I go solo some days on our trips but hate eating alone. Ive heard that a lot of resturants dont take ADR's for one (not sure if its true) so I usually eat quickly and alone at CS.

Obviously I wouldnt want to be seated with a family who wouldn't want to be eat with a stranger, but I wonder if there could be a way round it so that solo diners could be put on a table together. It would be great to eat lunch/dinner with other solo's and who knew some great friendships could be made:)
