What happens if?....

Those renting points have to change or cancel reservation. What happens between the renter and the seller? I feel like a dope for not asking this before

It comes down to what was is in the agreement that was made at the time of the rental. Some renters let people cancel if they can re-rent the points. Most owners do not allow cancellation at all but will work with the rentee to change a reservation if the he/she needs to and something else is available within the use year.

It's all between you and the DVC member. You need to contact the member immediately to see if you have any recourse. Depending on how close you are to your date, you may or may not get any money back. And you may or may not be able to change the reservation. Talk to the owner.

Thanks! We are not planning on changing our dates we just wanted to know what to do in the worst case scenario
