What happens if your child's 10th birthday is the day you arrive?

My son will turn 10 on the day that we arrive to Disney. We planned to arrive on his birthday to make his day more special. We are in the Disney Vacation Club and have reserved our DDP for our trip (DVC members pay when they arrive). As of right now, they have him down as a child. Will he still be charged as a child when we get there, or will they look at some record in the computer and say, "I see he turns 10 today - ADULT!!!!!"? Considering he eats like a bird, I can't see paying the adult DDP price for him. I'll do it if I have to, but there will be grumbling, lol.

10 on your checkin day means he's 10 for the full trip. He's an "adult."

The only thing I can think of is if, say, he was born at 5:23 PM and you entered the parks and used your ticket at, say, 9 AM he was technically still 9???? If he has a morning birthday and you weren't arriving until later, I think you are out of luck.

If it were me, I would arrive the day before.

I don't think this is workable. If it's your birthday, it's your birthday. You would end up carrying around a birth certificate so you can swear the kid was born at noon and you're checking in before noon, so he's still 9.

Can you chck in a day early? It is all about what age he is at checkin - and if he is 10 he is 10, I don't see any grey area in there :confused3

I guess I'm not seeing any gray area here, your child is 10 on the day of check in so s/he is 10 that trip. If you want to pay child price for the DDP then check in one day earlier. If the under 10 price is the only way the DDP works out to be economical,or your child doesn't eat like a 10+ then forgo the DDP.
