Do they send you a reminder or do they just cancel your reservation and send back your deposit?

Just curious. I bet lots of people forget.

They will send you a reminder. I believe they will still give you 30 days to pay up before they cancel your ressie.

I just got off with Disney travel to make my final payment & I asked this very question since I was reading while waiting. The CM said they will cancel it if only a deposit made on it & credit it back to you. If it several hundreds or almost paid off they email you or call you. But no they don't give you another 30 days. If unsure call them. But this is what I was told. :)

Actually, what happens is...I go in your place (so ya better have booked GREAT resorts)!!!:thumbsup2

According to my confirmed reservation under reservations on the WDW website, my deposit is good enough. It says to call Reservation center to pay the balance or I can wait to pay balance at check-in. I was also told this when I called them regarding my deposit.;)

Just got off the phone with a CM and he confirmed that final payment is not needed until check-in but one can always pay it off prior to arrival. He did ask if my reservation was a room only or was it a package. Mine is room only. Is it possible your reservation is a package? If so, that may be the reason for pre-payment.

room-only and package have very different rules...

room-only simply requires a deposit, w/the balance payable upon check-in...

packages are to be paid in full by 45 days prior to travel... typically they will give you a day or two grace period, esp if more than just the deposit is paid, but there is no guarantee... it is computerized and can get kicked out for non-payment... it's not a chance i would personally take, esp if i were going during a busy time!

they WILL NOT cancel your trip even after 30 days, after the letter they will call you...my best friend had this happen last year...we were all going together and she ran into a car problem, they said they will not cancel someones trip that is almost all paid off...

If you book a room only the rest is due at check in but if it is a package it due within 45 days. That person who was late was lucky & it was in 2006. Computers have gotten better since then ;) ;) Plus if you are almost paid then...maybe. I also had a friend who forgot to pay off & their vacation was cancel. MHO Guess it depend on who you get on the phone what each of them tell you
