I`m hoping this won`t happen....BUT what happens if you are a few minutes late for an ADR..Are you struck off the list ...so to speak...thanks for any advice
If you are lucky, they will give you a break and put you back on the list. But, if its very busy, I'd expect that you'll have to wait with all the other walk-ups.
A bit of it depends on where you're eating. We were stuck on the monorail on our way from the GF to the Contemporary, to eat at Concourse Steakhouse. We'd actually left earlier than necessary, but alas, the monorail decided to add a new train and we were stuck between the MK and the Contemporary. Long story short, we ended up being 20+ minutes late for our ADR. Fortunately, it's not a super popular place so they had no problem taking us right in. However, I've witnessed folks arriving late for LeCellier and they were told they'd have to wait until they'd seated the folks in front of them - I do recall them being seated eventually, but it was quite a long time after.
We were 15 mins late for Chef Mickey's, but we apologised at the desk and they were fine about it, we had to wait another 5 mins and then we were seated.
Believe it or not, we were late for CRT breakfast (of all things) by over an hour because I was sick all night. They still had it available for us and seated us ASAP. The CM's were so nice and understanding. It was such a relief - especially at those prices.
ADR is only the next available table, they are not holding a table for you. If you're not there they will just move on to the next name. We also showed up very late for Chef Mickeys and got a table rather quickly. But all this may depend on how busy they are.
The one time we were late was at Boma. We were 17 minutes late and we were told that the grace period is 15 minutes. They were still able to seat us pretty quickly though.
Being the queen of lateness, I have much experience in this area. During last weeks trip, I think we were on time for 1, maybe 2 ADRs. For a couple, we were over 30 minutes late! I really tried to be on-time, that darn bus just wouldn't come when I needed it too (SSR busses were few and far between). Anyway, we were seated at all of our ADRs within minutes. So, try to be on-time (early even), but if you're running late, don't worry too much.
I don't think I have ever heard of anyone being turned away due to lateness. Anyone have experience with being turned away because you were late? I would be interested to know...
We were late at CP my son woke up from his nap late and they took us no problems. The CM said that they give 15 min either way. I could see some places giving you a problem though.
We were late getting to Kona's. WOuld have been fine, but couldn't get into the parking lot! There was a line out into the street trying to get past the guard shack. They were looking up each person's adr's before they would let them into the lot!
So by the time we got past the gestapo at the gate and into the hotel, we were 20 minutes late. Our ADR would not pull up, i had the number though. They said we would be treated as a walkup since we were no longer in the system. Apprarently we 'rolled off'.
It was not a packed night, so we were seated within 20 minutes. But we will leave earlier for Kona next time and carry our adr number with us to save time
We arrived late at WL for a reservation at 'Ohanas at the Polynesian, We were getting our luggage when it was time for the ADR. I called and explained what was happening. We had very heavy traffic on I-95, They said to come on when we could. We were actually over 1 hr late by the time we arrived. We waited over 30 minutes, but I was just happy to still be seated. Now, if I had not called, it may have been a different story.
Great question!! I have another one in this area...
If you have the dining plan and do not show up to your reservation for whatever reason...will they take the credits off?
