What happens at the water parks during storms?

We were planning on going today. There have been a few thunderstorms on our way down. Do they close the water parks, or just close the rides until they pass? It seems like such a danger, but I hadn't even thought of it before.

Lat time we were at TL there were a bunch of thunderstorms in the area. They closed the rides but not the park. We just waited it out untill they gave everyone the all clear.

Yes the rides are are closed. You will have to find cover as CM will order you away from water and open areas. Last year at BB this happened to us. We decided to pack it in and headed back to our resort, freshened up and went resort hopping for the afternoon.

To be very honest, your best bet is heading back to the hotel for a while during the storms. Everything closes down and there's almost nowhere to find shelter in the waterparks. Yes, you're already wet, but it's just not the same when you're standing in a downpour with lightning strikes.

The parks reopen when the danger passes. All depends on how long the storm lasts.

We always just stick it out. Go into a shop and look around or something. The storms never last very long. We'll, at least none of the storms I've been in at WDW have lasted very long. The water parks clear out during a storm, and you have it pretty much to yourself. It's fun!

Like the pp, we just stick it out. Everyone goes running for the exit and we just sit around and eat at one of the food places . The storms don`t last all that long and as soon as the lightning clears, they let people in the water. The funniest thing I heard last year was people did not want to "get wet" from the rain?? Come on your at a WATER park
