What Happens After Close of Escrow?

Hi all,

Recently passed ROFR on SSR 200 pts. We just sent our closing funds to the Escrow Company. We're now waiting for the Seller to return the notarized deeds. Once she does, escrow will close, funds will disburse.

But What Happens After Close of Escrow?? (We're non members).

I read somewhere that I will receive an email from Disney with login/password info on how to log on to the DVC member website. I also read somewhere that this info comes in the mail. I also read that I can just call after 1 week of close to see if I am in they system.

Can someone guide me (timeline wise) though what happens after close of escrow?

Your broker or the title company should let you know when you close on the resale. At that point they forward the information to DVC and it is input. Apparently two different people do that. One does the contract info and another person will load the points within another day or two.

I never waited for mail or an email. I just started calling the MS number (which can be provided by your broker) after approx 5 days and telling them I was a new member and checking to see if I was in the system. They should be able to help you or forward you to someone that can. I think it was approx. 5 business days before I was able to access my account and the points weren't loaded at that time. Another couple days and voila! I was making reservations!!

my points were loaded and i got an email from disney at 7 business days past notice of closing but it did take my buyers 10 days before they returned their documents to the title company so it was at leaset 3 weeks after ROFR before i could book.

We're right in the midst of it right now. I can see the point allotment and the new contract but it doesn't show that we have the points available. It's 4 days in so I will call tomorrow. We waited 5 years before we added on through resale. We'll get the points just in time to beat any 7 month surge for Christmas and new years.

I closed just about three weeks ago, and two days later I called MS to see if my points were there. They were, so I had them transfer me to MS administration who was able to give me the code. My point is, give it a couple of days (I believe they say the norm is 7-10 days but it often happens more quickly), then call. I received my planner within about 10 days and just got my member card earlier this week. Hope this helps.

Thanks for everyone's reply! I sent in my funds on May 14 and the seller supposedly already sent in her docs...but the escrow company says that they're still waiting

The WAIT is killing me I just can't wait til we close and get our points loaded!!

Do do I find out the number for Member Services before I'm sent any materials?
