What happened?????

I somehow deleted my CD-ROM drive from my computer. How do I get it back?????? It doesn't show up anywhere!!!!!

Sometimes mine doesn't come up, but shows up again when I reboot. It's a little quirky.

I think...I'm no computer guru...but if you have "plug & play" hardware on your computer, if you unplug your computer and reboot, it will "find" any hardware and reinstall it...I think? (A little knowledge is DANGEROUS!

Nothing helped. Compaq emailed me some options. 1. Reset the BIOS settings to "Set Default and Exit". Or if that didn't work 2.) Delete CR-RW from the Device manager and reboot the PC and should detect it. I even restored my PC to original factory settings. I still have no drive!!!! I can't even use the button to open it. The casing has never been opened. Could something have come loose?
