Anyone know why they did away with the yummy Strawberry Swirl at the Enchanted Grove in the Magic Kingdom?

I know, isn't it horrible that it's gone. I wrote a letter of complaint to guest communications, and I asked them to please tell me if it was available anywhere else. Unfortunately, all I got in response was the canned "Thank you very much....our guests' comments are important...etc. etc." I wish it would come back.

I don't have a real concrete answer for you but I do know they have been recently doing a lot of menu changes in fantasyland QSR. Mostly just things to help operations run smoother. I am not terribly familiar with enchanted grove but I had heard they were getting new milkshakes so the strawberry swirl may have been taken off to keep the menu a manageable size, the the lines moving. I wouldn't be surprised if the dessert shows up in a new home eventually.

I am not happy about this either!! Rumor has it they also changed the citrus swirl to be more like sherbert vs. frozen O.J. What is going on with the snacks at WDW??:sad2:

Yes! And, unfortunately, I ordered three of them before I knew it was the "wrong" thing. The girl behind the counter had no idea what I was talking about. We really didn't like the new "sherbet" either. We did end up buying an OJ slush to share which was frozen OJ, but no ice cream. Maybe you could get a slush with ice cream in it? It wouldn't be quite the same, but better than the nasty orange sherbet.

OT--also missing this time were the delicious pretzels stuffed with spicy cheese in Tomorrowland. I didn't like the cream cheese one that we tried either. Very disappointing food all around this trip.

The citrus swirl was changed because Dole changed the recipe/ingredients in the mix. It's made exactly how it used to be but ingredients are slightly different now.

As far as the strawberry swirl goes, that should (should, not 100%) be coming back soon. It was taken off the menu because way more people buy the lemonade and raspberry lemonade slushes. During the hot summer months, one machine can't possibly keep up with the demand, so they brought in two machines. Unfortunately, no room for three machines.

Gee that's good news that the strawberry swirl may be resurrected at some point somewhere. My kids and I LOVE them. We even decorate one of our shrubs as a strawberry swirl tree for Christmas:

Love that tree-but I bet it's not too tasty! I'll be at WDW in October and I'll definitely be on "strawberry swirl alert". If I find it at a new location, I'll post here.

BUMMER! That's one of my favorite snacks in all of WDW. Luckily, we're not heading back for quite sometime (or unluckily, I suppose). Hopefully, they'll be reinstated by the time our little ones are big enough to travel out there!

Clever. I would have mistaken it for peppermint.
