What Happened to the rent/trade forum?

Wondering myself. Was there notice before it went bye-bye?

I just went there and it seems to be up and running. (Personally I would be glad to see it go, but..... )

Weird...it was down for about a half-hour and now it's back. Seriously, it was gone everywhere from the DVC main page to the forum jump menu. Oh well, another quirk of the DISboards.

It wasn't there for me either. But then I logged In and it was there.

You must log in first.

The R/T forum was changed, on Tuesday, to now only allow registered users, who are currently logged in, to view it.

Anyone who in the past was just a lurker and had been viewing the r/t board, will now need to get a username registered and log in before they can view the board.

Great improvement! Only thing better would be to charge a fee (I mean it is advertising, isn't it?) or eliminate it completely

I would hate to see it eliminated....renting points is what got me interested in purchasing DVC.

How does this "protect everyone's security and happiness!" At last check anyone could register including mass murders in jail......

I have no issue with making it open only to registered users, but if you are either the renter or rentee this really does nothing to "protect" you.

(And I agree it's advertising)
