Up 3-0 going to the 3rd period and lose 5-3 to Russia, I am still in shock and can't believe I saw the worst melt down for them ever at the World Juniors. It makes last years loss in the Gold Medal game to the Americans look better since that was in overtime and they didn't blow a huge lead in the 3rd period.

Stopped playing late 2nd period. Stopped finishing their checks. Basically stopped playing Canadian hockey

As with any team with a lead...they went into a "Prevent Defence". That always prevents the win! :headache:

█♥█ They played a heck of a tournament ... sad to see it end this way but they will learn from this ... they are just a bunch of youngins!

Not sure who they were after they returned from the intermission ... they sure weren't playing like they were for the first two periods :(

Next year!!!!

I for one am very proud.....one of the players is the son of my co-worker.

You can't always win and there is a huge lesson in this for them.

Very proud of our young guys too, but 5 unanswered goals...kinda like deer in the headlights. Nothing wrong with silver!:thumbsup2

Yes, it was very simple....they Stopped skating. It was just wave after wave of Russians coming at them and they were standing still. I never understand why a coach goes into a defensive shell. I would think that they would tell them to keep up the game plan, but only try a bit harder yet as there was only 20 minutes left. Still proud of them though. They are young and will amount to good citizens in the future. Congratulations on silver boys. You did us proud

They have watched too many Maple Leafs games. You can't play for 40 minutes and switch off.

:lmao::lmao::thumbsup2:thumbsup2

they still got silver, nothing to be upset over. you gotta lose sometimes and it's a hard lesson they'll need to learn from to continue to grow as players.
