What happened to the 3rd kid in CoP

After watching Carosel of Progress a couple times this week, a question arose. In the first scene, the wife is doing laundry and a little blonde girl is helping her. This kid is never seen again. In all the other scenes it's just the teenage daughter and the son.

So what happened to the other kid from the turn of the century? Did she die of small pox or typhoid or something and they just don't like to talk about it? Was renting small children to do chores with you a thing at the turn of the century?

I just don't get why that kid shows up once and then disappears. At least they could be like "We used to have to get our water from a well... But then Sally fell in and died. But now we have indoor plumbing, so we don't lose another child to a giant open hole in the ground. And that's what we call progress"

Aliens. Aliens swooped in and carted her off to the 23d century.

I've heard so many different reason why. My favorite being she is the .5 of the American Dream since the idea use to be a house with a white picket fence, and dog, and 2.5 kids.

Each scene you move to is a progression in time. The little girl is the teenager in the future scene. I assume her younger brother was born between the first scene and the one she's a teenager. In the final scene her parents are the grandparents.

We did a tour and was told it was the same child, they just changed her hair color. Very observant for noticing!

I always thought everyone in this stayed around the same age forever. Maybe she hopped in a Delorean and skipped right to the future

She misbehaved and was escorted out in handcuffs. She was found guilty and received a lifetime sentence for her crimes. She is currently the little blond Dutch girl in "It's a Small World".
