What happened to Flo's?

We also like Flo's. I had the Turkey Dip. It was fresh and there was plenty of it. DH had the ribs and they were great. We tried each other's food because we both thought what we had was good.

If you get stale bread or something you just don't like, go up and tell them. They are happy to fix the problem. At least that is our experience.

At mealtime the place is usually packed with lines coming out the door. I noticed that a few times.

Their breakfast is good too, and about the only place in DCA you can get breakfast that isn't a character meal.

Here you go with the hyperbole again. Almost everything you post about Disneyland here and on Mouseplanet is negative. You only started making those "positive" posts after several posters pointed out your negativity in your fireworks thread.

Hyperbole? Really? "Almost everything is negative" isn't hyperbole?

Let it go! :rolleyes1 Let it go!:rolleyes1 Hyperbole never bothered me anyway.

:flower3:

I was thinking about this the other day...

When I went in and had the bad food, it was about 8pm and empty. My bread was definitely not good and the turkey was dry, but I wonder if that can be chalked up to the hour...

Maybe I just caught them on a bad night?

The time of day should be no excuse, but it happens. At Plaza Inn I've been given stale breadsticks with my salad, but when I told them, they gave me one that was very good.

If you would have went up and told them about it they would have replaced it.
I hope that would have fixed it but if not, ask for your money back.

Agree about both Flo's and GatorChris

Loved the old menu, but after our meal a week and a half ago I don't think we'll go back again. I miss the old turkey dinner. The turkey dip isn't nearly good enough of a replacement.

We went a few weeks after the menu change. I had the beef and cheddar and DH had the turkey. We thought they were really good. I substituted the pasta salad instead of slaw and it was delicious.

We went on our trip and I thought the chicken dinner was just average. It really annoyed me that there isn't gravy for the potatoes any more and now I come to think of it I don't think it had the roll either. It didn't seem as filling. My husband got some sort of salad and he thought it was surprisingly good. It actually looked like 2x as much food as the chicken dinner. I only went the once and actually skipped eating there when I was hungry and in the area because I was so under impressed with it compared to how much I used to love what they served.

Dear GatorChris,

I hope you will always 'tell it like it is', positive or negative. I come to this board for information, what to do, what to avoid, etc., and am very appreciative of everyone who takes the time to make me aware of things I need to know, in order to make the most of my vacation. I love DL but I don't expect everyone to be thrilled with everything they encounter at the parks. IMHO anyone who has unpleasant experience at DL or DCA is entitled to talk about it here.

Hey, thanks for the love! I'll admit that I have my share of complaints, and some of them I may go over the top in frustration; i.e. the spring Refurb celebration. But, yeah, this one was legitimate. I was so disappointed: going from probably my second favorite place to eat at DL to "scratch it off the list". The ambiance is still nice, and the views of RSR are fantastic. But paying something like $12 for dry turkey, dry chicken, weird tasting roast beef, and horrible cole slaw.... I can go get a bread bowl, Chinese, or Mexican for a little less and it's way better. Well, who knows. I may go back to try the ribs, but only if I don't have a ressie over at Big Thunder Ranch where the good BBQ is. But it doesn't seem likely.

In that same vein...we used to go to Taste Pilot's Grill on every trip, but once the ribs disappeared from there, so did we. Then Flo's became our favorite place in DCA...but the reviews I've read make me not want to take a chance on it. So, we'll be getting a snack at the Corn Dog Castle, and going to DTD for an actual meal. Unless there have been major changes to some of the DCA restaurants, we will not eat lunch or dinner there. It's hard for me to believe that the food at DCA could be so lackluster, because we have lots of 'favorites' in DL...Blue Bayou, Bengal Barbecue, Harbour Galley, Rancho del Zocalo, the Coke Corner, Cafe Orleans, and even Tomorrowland Terrace. Guess there's no rationale for it.

River Belle Terrace turkey dinner vs. turkey dinner formerly at Flo's?

I miss the old turkey dinner. The turkey dip isn't nearly good enough of a replacement.

Flo's was a favorite for our family on our last trip (2013). I remember the turkey dinner being yummy. I see that it's no longer on the menu, but I did notice that the River Belle Terrace menu features a "Home-Style Turkey Dinner - with turkey gravy served with roasted potatoes, southern seasonal vegetables and a buttermilk biscuit." For some reason, we have never eaten at the River Belle Terrace. Has anyone tried this? Is it similar to the former menu item at Flo's?

Pretty sure that River Belle Terrace info is out-dated. Aren't they one of the Fantasmic package dining locations now? The old lunch and dinner menus were scrapped. Breakfast is now served until 2 PM. Then it's Fantasmic dining with the an all new menu.

Wait. Breakfast is served until 2pm?!?! I hope that's the case, and I wish I would've known this a few weeks ago. I can eat biscuits and gravy any meal of the day.

Well, I admit that I haven't checked it out myself yet. I thought I read that this was one of the changes with the introduction of the Fantasmic packages. Perhaps somebody who has gone can confirm.

Darn. I think you're right. I had been looking through the menus on AllEars.net, but after reading your reply, I checked the Disneyland website. Hours are listed as 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. - 8 p.m., and the only menu I see is a breakfast menu. Fantasmic! dining packages are also promoted on the page. Too bad. The lunch/dinner menu on AllEars.net had several options that sounded good - and were reasonably priced.

I don't recall if it was still being served at 2 p.m. last summer, but they were definitely still doing breakfast past Noon when I was there in August. Which I thought was weird, but hey ... people like pancakes!

Yep. Breakfast is served until 2pm now. Pretty nice.

The until 2 PM is a more recent change. It started when the Fantasmic dining packages were introduced in December 2014.
