We're just back from WDW, and on our way through town this evening we decided to eat at the Swan and Dolphin since my mom had never seen them. I was going to take them to the Coral Cafe, where my DH and I usually get breakfast when we're staying at the Swan/Dolphin, but the restaurant was gone. Anyone know what happened? They just close down?

The restaurant was completely gone???

I know they've been serving just breakfast and lunch for some time now (a few years). It was still doing this when we were there back in May.

But, you never know, maybe plans for something new??

Yep, completely boarded up. I thought I was losing my mind when I walked past it about a dozen times and could have *sworn* it was RIGHT THERE. They have what used to be the hallway boarded up, and it just looks like another of the alcoves that are all over that wall, and they have some potted plants blocking the sign that used to direct you to the Coral Cafe, and a sign up saying the usual "pardon our dust as we create more magic" or something like that.

Yes, I noticed that as well during our August stay at the Dolphin.

I remember reading something a few months ago about the Dolphin getting a new restaurant...but haven't seen anything about it since then.

There's another thread on here somewhere that talks about someone named Todd English from the Boston area coming down to open a restaurant at WDW. Perhaps this is one and the same?? Any idea who he is?

I'm surprised I didn't notice it over Labor Day when we were at Shula's.

Boy, am I really bored!!

Thanks for posting that link. It's good to know there will be another place to have dinner at the Dolphin. I'm looking forward to the change. I kinda missed having the Coral Cafe as a dinner choice since they only served breakfast and lunch the past few years.
