What happened to Breakfast at Epcot?

My guess is its crowd control. Force people to book table service for a proper breakfast and that slows down people entering the parks. Give people a quick service breakfast option and they'll be ready to crowd the parks that much earlier.

After a few hangry episodes in the parks with kids (many years ago) while trying to find a suitable breakfast option we really only do breakfast in the room. I do a grocery order of bagels, cream cheese, cereal, milk, fruit, OJ and anything else we may like. I may also bring a toaster this trip so we don't have to walk down to the QS location. I can find one for about $10. I may or may not bring it back.

This saves us tons of money and time. I despise looking for breakfast food in the parks after the whole debacles I have had. There isn't much available IMO and like a PP stated, it's mostly sugar overload and will send you crashing in a few hours.

We do have two breakfast ADRs planned. Topolino's mid trip and GFC on check out day. I will also get DD QS Mickey waffles on our first day. Other than that we will eat in the room.

Apparently....of the two trips we have done on site with park breakfasts, it remains my husbands favorite breakfast. He's basically told me if it comes back before our next trip, i need to plan our park reservations around it.

We did get lunch there this past trip, and while we'll go to there for lunch again, we'd much rather have breakfast. As a character meal, we found it to be fairly low key, which is nice.

Garden Grill breakfast is the only breakfast we ever intentionally eat while in Disney. We usually skip breakfast to hit the parks early and eat an early lunch, but Garden Grill is the exception. We love it that much!

I'm just planning to do peanut butter bagels and maybe some yoghurt in the room so that's taken care of before I leave for the parks. I don't personally like the greasy breakfast food. (Except for bacon rolls made using proper back bacon)

We rarely, if ever, rope drop but decided to give it a shot this time. We scheduled MK on a MNSSHP night, hoping for light crowds, and figured if we got there for early resort entry, so much the better. We had cheese and crackers in the room so grabbed a few of those and headed for the bus, figuring after the early entry/rope drop crowds built up, we'd stop for a "real" breakfast (maybe around 10). Nope, not to be. OH well, at least I had some fruit (thanks to that frozen banana)! Usually we eat breakfast in the room. DD has some dietary issues, as do I, but we bring powdered protein shakes that can be made with water, get some cheese and whole grain crackers, and a little fruit for breakfasts. We just wanted to get a fast start to MK this trip- but boy, we got hungry quickly!

I love Les Halles! Definitely should have went there.

I think I was just so disappointed because Sunshine Seasons and Garden Grill had the best breakfasts in the park IMO. I'd argue Sunshine Seasons was the best QS breakfast in WDW (maybe tied with Sanaa, but who knows if that exists now?). Always ate at one or the other. Epcot mornings are no more for me now.

I was wondering why Topolino's breakfast was so difficult to get; now I know.
Just popping in to say Sanaa does still have breakfast.

Wouldn't it be amazing if La Cantina de San Angel was open for breakfast?

I would love some huevos rancheros, chorizo and eggs or menudo for breakfast!

Or, how about some congee, jianbing or dim sum at the lotus blossom cafe?

Or a full English breakfast at the Rose and Crown?

Pancake stacks, waffles, eggs and bacon, country ham with redeye gravy, biscuits and gravy, scrapple (yes please!) at the American pavilion.

I could go on. Epcot has such a wealth of possibilities to sample breakfast traditions around the world. In many places, it is sometimes one of the best meals of the day. Epcot could be the breakfast destination if Disney chose to try harder.
Yes! I would be all in for that full English breakfast or some huevos rancheros!

COVID happened to breakfasts, unfortunately. One of the few things yet to return to normal. Not sure if it's a staffing issue or lack of caring, or what, but I know GG hasn't had breakfast since the shutdown.

That being said, France has a new restaurant that does serve breakfast, Le Creperie de Paris, that I've heard is pretty good, but haven't tried myself.
We ate at Le Creperie de Paris on our last trip and loved it! The food was excellent and is a great option for any meal. They have both sweet and savory options. We were able to get a walk up reservation. The Cast members were really nice and very accommodating! The price point was great too!

We are just planning on having a coffee and pastry or grabbing QS from the hotel before heading to Epcot.
