I was looking at airfare and playing with dates for late April return 1st week in May. Most fares were $99 and when I refreshed they went to $164!!!! :scared1:

What happen and why?

1. The fare bucket originally priced sold out in the time between original load and the refresh.
2. There was a fare sale (ding?) that expired between the two times.
3. Your page was displaying a past web session, refreshing the page brought you the current rates.

Sometimes if you are playing with fares and then close and come right back in, their system might still be holding those lower fare seats and you get the next higher fare. Sometimes if you wait a few minutes it might go back to the original.

Also, if you are booking multiple tickets, try 1 at a time. If there is only 1 seat left at the lower fare and you request 2, it will give you the higher fare for both.

So true. We are a family of 4 but I always search for 1 person, then 4. If it's the same price for 4 I book it. If not I book as many as possible at the lower price then the rest at the higher one.

The lady told me to check back on each Tuesday morning until we go for lower fares. She was extremely nice and although it is more money and I am going to book it once DH tells me when he wants to return.
