Do you pre-order groceries to have delivered? If so, what do you order? Lactose free milk is not on the list - DH and SSis are both intolerant
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

I use We Go Shop. www.wegoshop.com

I use the online form to send my shopping list.

We can specify what brands we want this way and get exactly what we need.

We've used Garden Grocer for the last 4 years and have never had a problem. They will even pick up wine /or beer for you.
We usually order lots of breakfast foods : eggs, waffles, fruit, cereal, etc... and usually plan on eating dinner in at least once during our stay.
Last trip we stayed for 13 days and ate dinner home a least 2 nights. :thumbsup2

We have used We Go Shop for a few years now without disappointment. They will purchase exactly what you request and, where you request them to shop. We use Publix because you can go on-line and look at their weekly sales circular to pick things on sale. They've gotten us buy one get one free on cereal and other products.

You will not be disappointed.

Now I've thought of doing this but how does this work? Do we call them when we check in and tell them our room number? Then they deliver it there same day? Sorry for the question overload. :surfweb:

We use GardenGrocer... when you place your order you select a delivery time... if you aren't in the room when they arrive, they will leave it at bell services which has both fridge and freezer... just call bell services and they will bring it up to the room. :thumbsup2 GardenGrocer always calls to say my order has been dropped off.

You can "shop" their website for items but if there is something you would like, e.g. beer or wine, and it's not on the list, just let them know and they will get it for you. Lactose free wouldn't be a problem, I'm sure.

It's incredibly convenient and we love it! :goodvibes

We always rent a car so go to the store when we want, but generally after we get our room assignment. We shop at Publix, but the new Target is nice too. We generally have to go more than once, esp. if we run out of beer or maragrita mix!

We have used wegoshop.com 6 times and never been disappointed. I like the fact that I can choose where they will shop, and I like to write my own list rather than shop a "Virtual" grocery store. We usually order breakfast items, juice, coffee, soda, beer, wine, water, fruit, snacks etc.
I choose a delivery time late in the afternoon after I should be in my room. They guarantee a 1/2 hour window and they have always been right on time.
Have a Great Trip.

In previous trips we have always shopped for ourselves but this past trip we used Gardengrocer (large order over $200 for a 13 person stay for 6 nights) and it worked out great!

We just used Garden Grocer. It was great. They called the day before delivery to confirm the order. We were not in our room when the delivery was made but they left it for us. We then had a phone to confirm that our delivery was at the hotel.

We will definately use them again.

When using we go shop, you go to their website about a week or two prior to your arrival in Disney. If you are going during the busy season (e.g. Spring break), use the 2 week window. You provide them with your arrival information, name, cell phone number, date of arrival, resort, etc. This allows them to set time aside to shop for you and provide a delivery time. About 3 days prior to your leaving you fax/e-mail them your shopping list - including specific brands/sizes, etc. if you choose. I even requested and received a few ripe bananas and a few not so ripe ones just to get us through a week.

You will receive a call on your arrival in FL. (pretty much when you are at the airport), this is to let you know they have not forgotten you and to make arrangements for delivery. If you have checked into your room, depending on the resort, they can deliver right to your room, otherwise you meet them at the entrance. Disney staff members are very comfortable with this type of delivery so no worries there, if you do not have a room yet, the staff will refrigerate/freeze your order as needed. (We go shop bags order to keep items together - frig/freeze/general.)

Best part of this service, you get to pick EXCATLY what you want as opposed to Garden Grocer - you only get to select what they stock in their warehouse.

Good luck.

I use Garden Grocer because we are usually not there to receive the order and I want to pay by credit card. I just want to get it delivered to Bell Services and we'll get it sent up later. We Go Shop charges a hefty fee (13% or something) to use a credit card & GG does not. We Go prefers that you are there to receive your order. You can specify special order items in the comments section of the GG website and they will call you with a price. If I needed to I could also specify specific sunscreens or whatever.

We usually order a case of water, Gatorade, beer, soda, milk & breakfast items like doughnuts, bagels, butter & cream cheese. The beer has to be specified in the comments section & I have to fax a copy of my drivers license. I usually just bring a partial 1 Lb bag of coffee with us as it's lightweight & squishy so I can fit it in wherever & I don't need a whole bag. The delivery fee is a lot less than renting a car for the day and doesn't waste any of our precious vacation time.

I have used Gardengrocer also, and I just hopped over to their website quick and I saw some Lactaid Skim, 1%, and whole for 3.99 for a 64 oz carton. I find their prices to be in the ballpark of what I pay in the Boston area so with their small delivery fee - you can't beat the service.

Annie, do you know if GG will shop at a liquor store too?

Yes, they will but I think that they may tack on an extra fee for multiple stops ($5 is coming to mind). I decided that wasn't worth it as I just wanted to leave some booze in our Owners Locker...so I used an empty plastic 20 oz. Coke bottle, filled it with my Captain Morgan and put it in my checked luggage. Worked great for what I needed & I didn't worry about it busting. For our shorter trips we try to fly in carry-ons so I just wanted to leave some packed down there for those times. Now a case of beer for DH is a different thing to try to pack!:rotfl: But that they can buy in the grocery stores down there so we just had them pick it up with the food. :thumbsup2

(Same thing as with the beer tho - you'd list it in the comments section, you fax your ID with your order # and they will call you with a total for that part of your order.)

If you use Garden Grocer, does the Bell service at every resort have a fridge and freezer? It sounds like a great idea and seems like it would be cheaper than taking a cab to and from Walmart.....

If you're curious about what people order from one of these services, in this post of my current Pre-Trip Report, down towards the bottom of the post, I include a copy of our Garden Grocer order from last summer.
