What goes on for 4th July celebrations?

My family and I will be in Orlando / Disney for July 4th 2008. We've been out twice before over this holiday and don't ever remember much happening!

My Dad really wants to get in the spirit of 4th July holidays and so I wondered if you could let me know if anything that happens in Orlando / Disney.

We were at Disney during the 4th of July week this year. On the third and fourth, the fireworks/light shows at the parks are extended to include a patriotic theme. I didn't see these but they are supposed to be quite nice. We were staying at Saratoga Springs with a water view looking across to Downtown Disney and they set up fireworks barges for the fourth. We were really lucky as one of the main displays were shot off from a barge that was right in front of our building so we watched from the balcony. It was a typically spectacular Disney fireworks show. While we were there I noticed signs for fireworks in Orlando so I know that they have them but don't recall where they were.

There are at least 15 places to see fireworks (not all in theme parks) in the greter Orlando area on July 4th. There's a alrge celebration by Lake Eola in downtown, Kissimmee does a big too-doo, and Olde Towne has fireworks. That's just off the top of my head, there are a lot of others as well.
