Has anyone ever done research on what room types book up first? Do all Grand Villas go at the 11 month window or do they linger since they use so many point? Are one bedrooms prefered over studios? HOw long do two bedrooms stay free before they are all booked up?

I was just wondering about availability of different room types for future planning purposes. I knew busy time of years probably effect the room type usage.

FWIW, the following have often been described as needing to be booked within the 11-month reservation window and usually not much left available at 7 months or less. This would indicate that they tend to go first.

GV's at OKW any time of year (due to the lowest point cost of all the GV's)

Standard View Studios at BWV during the holidays: Early December through New Years.

HH and VB book pretty early for the summer month.

You'll also find that certain seasons tend to book very early, such as Christmas, Food & Wine, etc.

I guess it all depends on the resort. Grand Villas do book up quick because there are very few available especially at the Epcot resorts. I've found in my very limited DVC experience trying to book my home resort, BWV, that standard view studios go first then prefered studios. After that not to sure. I would assume that the rooms that utilize less points will go first. Weekends are easier to book in some cases because some DCVers will stay Sunday to Friday and will avoid the Friday and Saturday night points. OKW and SSR seem to have inventory of room for a longer period of time for booking. Also it all depends on the time of year. From what I read the DVC demand tends to be different than the regular WDW demanded rooms.......

So the regular Disney resorts are busy on weekends, but not weekdays. But DVC resorts are busy Weekdays and not as much on weekends?

Just wanted to say thanks for the DVC planner Downloaded and Loved It! Much better and easier to use then the online DVC point calculators.

What about the two or one bedrooms?

Grand Villas go quick, Studios BWV standard view go quick....but not the Fiday/saturday nights.

At 7 months out I was unable to secure week-end dates for Oct. this year @ BCV or WL studio.

At 5+ months out I couldn't add a weekend day (prior or after) to June stay @ BWV stand. studio either. They still had 1 BR's @ SSR & OKW.

Haven't gotten waitlisted sunday (over columbus day weekend) yet @ BCV. Only avail @ 7 months was SSR & OKW.

At OKW, GVs will likely be the first to be booked out. Studios might also be a bit tougher as you get later because of the number of 2 bedroom villas booked after the dedicateds are taken up.
