What gifts to give your boss?

What have you given or plan on giving your boss a gift for the holidays? I want to buy him something but just can't seem to think if what. Any ideas?

My boss has just about everything he wants. He is devoted to his church and its mission work, and he has gone on mission trips to villages in South America the past three years. I sent a contribution to his church's mission fund in his honor, and his wife told me he was blown away by it. He does not express emotion much in the office, but he told me he was overwhelmed and that it was the best gift anyone could give him!

A few of us chip in and get our boss a GC to her favorite store - each gives $25.

Restaurant gift certificates are always a hit. My boss is young, with two youngish kids, so she & her DH enjoy a night out.

Usually everyone chips in and gets one thing. If you do decide to get a gift, keep it simple - anything expensive or big might be construed as butt kissing!

Unfortunately it's just me , my boss and one other guy. And going in with the other guy isn't an option so I have to think of something to get him. Maybe a GC or some sort of gift basket that he can share with his wife but I wouldn't know what kind. Guess I have a lot of internet searches to do

DO you have a specialty that you make?? Ya know- like a special kind of pie or candies etc.? You could make that and wrap it up really nicely- I'll bet he'd love that !

I chip in with 8 other people and we get him a few 50.00 gift certificates to a few local restuarants.
