What gets me most is the hypocrites on this board

I had one CM at Test Track tell me today that I shouldn't use paper FP if I have the band, and a supervisor-looking person overheard him and said he was wrong until things change. I asked the supervisor person if he knew when that would be and he said he wasn't allowed to release that information yet. Greedy or not, unfair or not, it's allowed. Guest relations also confirmed it for me in all four parks. I made a point of asking.

For the record, I double-dipped once on Test Track, once on ToT, and once on Space Mountain all week.

It's incredible how people figure out how to scam a system in place instead of using it for what it's intended for. That's why they did what they did for their ADR's so give Disney time they will fix that , too.

I don't look at it as people "scamming", just gaming the system.

I'm much to laid back for worrying about FP or planning my day down to the min. Just going to have a good time and not think about all the crazy stuff.

LOL.. Just because you CAN, doesn't mean you SHOULD. Whether they're telling you to or not.

Why does one person/family need to ride TSM 4 times in a day? While another 3 families aren't getting to ride it at all?

What's so wrong with riding TSMM 4 times in a day if you are following the rules? When my family went in April FP+ wasn't in place yet, but my husband was able to ride TSMM 4 times that day. How? We got a regular FP for the mid afternoon, he ride by himself twice during the first Fantasmic showing, and my brother, his girlfriend, and I were able to join him for one last ride before the park closed.

While there will always people who will try to find loop holes in any system, there are thousands of others who will find a way well within the rules to be able to ride what they want to ride as many times as they can.

You aren't gaming anything they allow you and encourage you to do!

Um... Disney has said repeatedly all along that legacy FP is going away. So your bold statements on the greatness of FP+ were made without even realizing that FP- is going away? Is it too late to take you up on that wager

Ok Einstein, point me to the official statement. The reason I asked the question is because I knew there was no statement made. It was sarcasm which apparently is lost on you. You want to try to cut people down but you know nothing just like everyone else. Get down off your high horse dude cause yer nose is starting to bleed.

Here is my take on FP+:

Let me start by saying that our next trip in Dec. is a split trip. We are already more Uni driven due to onsite perks than we are Disney. We are waiting to see how the coin toss turns out for Disney in the next 2 years with this FP+ thing and park changes. I know Uni isn't for everyone, but we love it and with the express pass you feel like a VIP for every ride and the resorts are luxury for AFFORDABLE prices. Can't beat it, it really spoils you. Very cutting edge rides as well compared to Disney. Also, everything is right there at your fingertips and very convenient.

Second, my family rides ALL the adult rides at Disney (too old for kiddie rides). And we like to ride more than once. Sure, we soak up everything else too but if there were not rides we probably wouldn't go. Others specifically go to see parades, shows, meet and greet characters, etc. We do some of that but mainly we plan around rides. It may depend on your children's ages, etc.(?) as to what floats your boat but one size does not fit all.

This all being said, we would NOT be happy restricted to only 3 FP per day. We are rope drop people and we use the original FP system to the max with some planning. Just because 3 will be good for some, don't assume it is good for all. If Disney DOES change the rules to only 3 per guest per day - well there will be no more Disney vacations for us as we won't drive 12 hrs to visit and then stand in line for an hour to ride one ride. This trip is over $1K more than our trip last year due to increased costs overall and this is with 1 less person in my party. It's a lot of money to stand in line. So, if this happens either due to the FP change or just crowd increase we'll just go elsewhere for our vacations. But we know this will be our choice, with several factors involved.

However, if Disney gives this new perk to onsite guests only (and DVC/AP holders) and keeps a system in place for time spaced additional FP throughout the day - in addition to the 3 for resort guests - well that would be wonderful. We will keep planning to come and stay onsite, we may even get to the park an hour after rope drop and spend money on breakfast at one of their restaurants. :lmao:

If 3 FP is all you get in the future no matter what - well that has taken away a current perk and not improved it at all. Does anyone really think that is what Disney is doing here? :confused3 They really need to make an announcement and put everyone's fears to rest once and for all.

I am really looking forward to using FP+ this trip. I am thrilled that they are going to do more for their resort guest. I think we will love it since we plan which park ahead of time anyway. If we can't get more than 3 FP on the first park day - I'll be visiting guest services. I don't plan to cheat the system (give me a break) but I better be able to pull as many as any ticket holder in the park during this test phase.

Which is exactly why I've never complained about the current FP system. People have figured out ways to manipulate it to their advantage, and I applaud them.

But now that those same people are complaining that they won't be able to manipulate the system anymore, I will speak up.

I don't feel bad for you (general). I don't feel bad that you won't get to ride TSM 4 times in a day. I'm just going to be happy that I'll get to ride it once. Because that's all I'm asking for is once. LOL

Why shouldn't you, exactly?

Next you'll be saying it's not fair that a family gets selected to be in the parade, but your family did not...

And again… not saying "it's not fair" LOL But you keep reading that. I simply asked why one person needs to ride the same ride 4 times? You love the ride? Great. I'm happy that you've been able to set the new world record for riding TSM in a given day. Super for you.

All I'm reading is boo hoo I can't ride my favorite ride 5 times all while stomping your feet like a child throwing a temper tantrum. At least that's what it seems like on this end.

Seems that group is the one shouting out "IT'S NOT FAIR"!!!

Oh well.

Exactly! Some people like to ride rides and the current (original) FP system gives you the option to ride more than once if you plan for it and WAIT for your FP return time. And there is no cheating or skipping line or "Double Dipping" to be able to do it. It is WITHIN the rules.

I don't know what I'm missing in this "Double Dipping" thing - and that it is cheating. How is it cheating if you can pull FP normally anyway periodically throughout the day? How is it cheating the system if as a resort guest you are given 3 more FP for "free" during testing. IMO this is a PERK for the rest guest - at least for now and it is WITHIN the rules.

Exactly, especially when in all reality the ride is not that great. It's a rehash of Buzz's Ranger Spin. We've gone on TSM one time since it opened in it's first year after waiting almost 2 hours WITH A Fast Pass(Old days multiple break downs) We never went back on it in 10 or so subsequent visits. It's not really a good ride. I can see the attractiveness of it though, due to the Toy Story characters.

Oh and the only reason they are double dipping right now is cause they are only getting 3 choices a day for one park. And they usually get more. So in reality it's not much more different. IMHO

I haven't been around for a few weeks. People still don't get this?! Can't believe people are still crying about "double dipping"

In sept we did use both our kttw and our band. Our cards had to be printed ten times yes then thank you mb system... We did not use all those extra cards for fp. However I don't feel bad using one set of kttw and bands .

We did NOT get more fp than we normally would on a trip so we weren't robbing anyone.

To expect people to only get three fp while everyone else is getting as many as they can pull - is absurd and to whine and call it cheating as though it is some big offense is pathetic.

We normally would pull fp every opportunity that we can. We pulled less fp this trip bc we had three scheduled a day. Being able to plan them a certain way freed up time as I was pretty strategic in my times and rides allowing us to not really need as many fp as we normally would pull.

Not if you add up the 20/30 or so minutes in each queue.

How long do you think these lines are gonna get? I mean be reasonable. I lived in a Disney World without Fastpass at all. I made it thru just fine and loved it.

What would happen if Disney took away Fastpass all together????

You all are acting like children. You want more and more. It's the most cliche statement I know but if it bothers you that much waiting in a 20 minute extra line complain to Disney so they know what people don't or do like to improve it or don't go on that ride or don't go to Disney at all.

I mean really. Smh.

my god you're annoying. No doubt in my mind you must be one of the people I am addressing in my original post

What I don't understand about some comments here is - why can't you ride TSM at least once without indicating that it is not fair that someone else rode it 4 times? All you have to do is plan to be there early enough in the day to get a FP like the rest of us and plan to go get another and plan to ride while Fantasmic is showing, etc. It's not that hard to do. We (my family) are not experts and we figured out how the crowds work, how the FP machines work pretty quickly.

Basically, you choose what is priority for you when you visit and you plan around it. It is that simple. It is not cheating anyone else out of the same experience, they can do the same. We sacrifice breakfast, strolling around first thing, etc. Those of us who use more than 3 FP in a days time just have different priorities. This same concept applies to anything we (my family) does in life including other theme parks, other vacations, even weekly grocery shopping.

The same people who complain about those who "manipulate" the current FP system are going to complain when those same people figure out FP+ as well - which is what we are seeing and hearing complaints about right now on this thread during the testing phase.

This entire post is annoying crying about what you don't like, because you didn't agree with it, despite cast members recommending "be sure you use your KTTW card for extra fast passes!"

I just got back from a week at the mouse with FP+ and if you didn't have it you were a second class guest. I really felt bad for these guests because they were at a big disadvantage in my opinion. For the record I didn't double dip not that I could have because FP- were gone by 11 AM on most main attractions.:confused3

Obviously, others like it enough to ride it more than once. Maybe you like something else at Disney enough to watch or ride it 4 times? That is why there is more than one attraction at a theme park I suppose, different strokes for different folks. And look at the bright side - if you don't ride TSM, someone else gets to ride it either once...or 4 times that day. :lmao:

Either way, why is how many times someone rides a ride a problem for anyone else as long as that person waits in line or waits their FP time out, regardless of how many FP they get within the rules? Why should they tone down their enjoyment of that ride. While they are in line there they are not in line somewhere else.

Not directed at you personally - but I really think a lot of people don't want to plan or make extra effort but want to do all the things as many times as they want or if they can't because they don't know how or they they aren't really prioritizing they want others restricted or limited as well. To me, if others put in the work to plan, arrive early, get FP when they can...they deserve to ride as many times as they can work in.

I have never ever been in the parks and blamed others who rode a ride more than once because I didn't get to ride. I figure they were there before me to either get in line or get a FP. Its all about timing and crowds. Sure, is it annoying but that is life.
