Ok going to DLRP 14th november for 4 nights and been stocking up on thermal layers for kids and fleeces for under coats for us all but dont know what to do about footwear??

Do i take wellies in case it rains but will they be comfy?? or just comfy trainers/boots??

Kids are 3 and 6

I am taking both and thick socks and tights for them. I read a tip recently put freezer bags inbetween your socks and trainers and your feet wont get wet / cold in the rain / snow.

A good comfy waterproof shoe is best. Trainers or something similar. Remember though there is a way to walk around the magic kingdom side without actually getting wet. In the studios park thats not possible though from memory.

Also dont forget hats! ie ones that cover ears. We overlooked them once and boy did we suffer until we found ones to buy.

We've been kind of wondering about footwear too :confused3
I've ended up getting Bearpaw boots from TK Maxx - they look quite similar to Uggs with the fleece lining (nice and cosy) but have much thicker soles and are not as expensive! Im also taking doc marten type boots. And many thermal socks/tights etc!
We decided wellies wouldn't be too comfy for walking around.

doc martin boots work well. The cold time I went(jan 2008) I wore my converses with a good pair of socks, as they have a nice cushy sole. But if its wet those wouldnt be much use.

I'm planning on getting some walking boots for our trip in March - they look like trainers but are waterproof. Very cheap in Mountain Warehouse. You can also buy waterproof spray so you could spray that on some normal trainers? It's the clothes that are stressing me out - waterproof trousers or normal trousers with a waterproof overall? Jackets or coats? Thermal layers? Tights or trousers or both? Argh, it's doing my head in :) It's that worry of being too cold outside but too hot inside!

We're a lot better prepared for cold than rain, although we all have waterproof jackets. At least we're in the HNY so we don't have far to squelch if we get soaked, and we can have a quick change!
I'm keeping everything crossed that it doesn't rain TOO much (or at all, if you're listening weather fairy :wizard:)

I think I will take wellies, we go on 29th November. I bought wellies there on my last trip in September when we had really bad rain and I was so fed up with wet feet and wet at the bottom of my jeans. I also bought a poncho which was great and will be in my case again this time along with all my cosies (tights, socks, thermals etc).

My 3.5 year old is just about needing new shoes so planning to get him the wee Clarks ankle boots (will take his wellies also) assume that with tights (temp control ones from m&S and thermal socks under his trousers he will be ok). Although now thinking of a light weight trespass snowsuit for him as well (will do winter play as well as Disney in Nov and March).
