What exactly IS the Hospitality House at OKW?

Am I correct in thinking this is the main lobby area? Is this the most desired location if you want to be close to the main pool, snack area, pool bar? What about the drink refill station if you have the mug...are the machines close to HH?

If you book a room "near hospitality house" do you still get good views of gold courses/water?

When we book our trip for our family next year, we want to be close to the public areas, boat to DTD, refill stations, main poop, and bus stops. Just confirming these are included in the hospitality house category. Thanks!

Hospitality House is the main house. I once stayed near the HH and I had a view of the Golf Course. And I was able to walk over the little bridge to the pool and the bus stop (which is the last stop before leaving OKW).

OK so this area is separated by a little bridge to the main area? If this is the last bus stop, did you ever find it difficult to get a bus to the parks with the busses being full from the other stops first?

I believe most HH reservations will have a golf course view. You can make that a request after you secure a HH reservation (which is a booking category).

HH area buildings are 11-14 and 23-26. 11-14 are right across the street from the lobby parking lot. 23-26 are right across the bridge near the Peninsular Road bus stop.

So you are closer to the themed pool, Olivia's, Goods to Go (where the refills are obtained), the store, the lobby check in, boat dock and Community Hall are all located in this area. There is another seasonal counter service at the Old Turtle Pond pool with refills when it is open.

There are other buildings close to the HH, but they are not included in the HH area booking. Bldg 62, 63 and 64. These were built when they tore down the sales office (Commodore House).

We've stayed at OKW so many times I can't even count. But we've never stayed in any of these eight building. 23-26 might be okay, but the others get the noise from the buses entering and leaving the lobby area. And the parking lot gets really full so sometimes people park in the lot for 11-14 while they are swimming or dining or checking in.

We were in 24 on our summer vacation last year and we loved it. We'd walk to HH to get the bus as it left and we got off at the 1st bus stop Peninsular Rd. Everything was close and it was really quiet.

I have stayed at OKW since it was simply "DVC" resort. I have stayed all over the resort from building 16 near HH to way down by South Point. Remember there are 4 pools-the main pool by HH with the slide & 3 quiet pools at South Point, Turtle Pond and Millers Rd. So you are never far from a pool. Yes your drink refills are mainly at Goods near the main pool but also at Turtle Shack by the pool but it has limited opening times depending on the season. For quiet I prefer Old Turtle Pond. There is a pool, mostly golf course views and not too far to walk to HH for a refill. Also you can ride the bus back to HH-the downtown bus also serves as an internal shuttle. Then walk to the Peninsular Rd (over the bridge) bus stop and take any bus to your stop. The buildings across the road (15, 16, 62,63 & 64) are also not far from HH.:goodvibes

I have never had an issue with being further from the HH area. I always consider the extra walking to be of benefit to me and can ride a bus if I choose to.:)

Hospitality House is the check in building. There is an adjoining building with the store, restaurant, bar, counter service, "community room," gym, ice machine, washers and dryers.
Recreation at the same location includes the main pool, children's play area, sauna, tennis courts, outdoor movie/campfire area, and boats to Downtown Disney.
My first stay at OKW I was in building 12, studio, across the parking lot from Hospitality House. It overlooked the golf course and trees, and was extremely quiet. I never had trouble parking (this was in early December).
Next stay I had a 1 bedroom, not near Hospitality House. It overlooked Peninsular Road, and I could hear the traffic.
This past September I stayed in a studio in building 26. This is Hospitality House category. It was set back on a cul de sac with a view of the golf course, and also extremely quiet.

I can attest that yes, buses can be too full for you. Last month we were on a bus that stopped at the HH to let people off, but he turned off his sign and announced "Don't anyone say where this bus is going." As soon as the few got off, he closed his doors and left. One other time our bus was full and we by-passed the HH completely.

I would say that Hospitality House IS the "main area" as far as activities, if not acreage. The rest of resort is more housing units, 3 "quiet" pools, a snack area in the Turtle Pond pool area, and tennis courts on Old Turtle Pond Road. So really, if you're staying near Hospitality House, the only reasons to go to the other areas is to go to a "quiet" pool, or just out of curiosity. Oh, and to take the walking path to Saratoga Springs.
