What "exactly" is a Dole Whip?

Okay, it sounds very intriguing for our family (a bunch of pineapple lovers!)...so what is a Dole Whip exactly? I see it is soft serve but is it like ice cream or sherbet or gelato? Can they swirl it with vanilla soft serve? That sounds really good!

It's like sherbet. The best item on the menu is the "Dole Whip Float". It's a dole whip on top of pineapple juice- it's really good and refreshing.

to put it simply...a Dole Whip is pineapple heaven with a straw.

phenomenally fabulous...refreshing and wonderful on a hot day.

It's dole pineapple juice with pineapple softserve on top of it.

never had anything so FABULOUS in my life!!! I swear it is one of the main reasons we go back to Disney year after year! (I think the official name is the Dole Whip Float. It is possible to get the pineapple soft serve without the juice...but the float is the BEST pick me up I've ever encountered on a hot Florida day!)

If y'all like pineapple, y'all will be in heaven with this!!!

You can get them at Captain Cook's in the Polynesian. But it's pineapple only, and no float option.

I wouldn't expect too much. The pineapple Dole Whip tasted pretty bland to me. The float (Dole Whip in pineapple juice) is better, because the juice gives it some flavor. But I'd rather just get the juice--or I might try the vanilla Dole Whip in the float instead of the pineapple.

I'm a Dole Whiip Float Convert!!

I never would stand in line for them. . . until now!! They are a DDP Snack - even the float! (I think it lists for $3+?) (and dont forget you can get a glass of ice water free!!)

Perhaps the most overrated treat at WDW. I love fresh pineapple, but this just doesn't make the grade. I am afraid I never tried one until last year, so I may have missed their heyday.
