What exactly DID you do at Disney? May 2011 TR (TR link pg 44)

Great updates! I'm sorry your breakfast at Boma wasn't as good as you'd hoped. I've never even been to that side of US, it looks kinda fun but nothing like Disney of course:goodvibes I love that coffee mug you almost got though:lmao: And your room at BC was so cute, I love the little Ariel touches in the room!

Beach Club is high on my list of dream resorts but I am now convinced we have to wait until Beatriz is a lot older so we can truly take advantage of everything it has to offer.

Sounds like you had a great morning at Universal Studios. Last time we were there was in 2005 and I have never seen all that Simpsons stuff. It looks like it is a lot of fun. Maybe one day...

Too bad the breakfast at Boma was not as good as you remembered. I am not crazy about "Disney breakfasts" but Boma is one I would like to try.

So... you guys are really staying at Pop? Our plane landed at MCO at 11am and we were in our room at the 70's building by 13h15. The whole trip with the ME and checking in was very straightforward. I am sure you are going to like it.

Great updates! I think I'll keep my dream of staying at BC until Reid is a good bit older for that pool area. I don't blame you for leaving US. Ed & I love IOA but can do without US. In fact, the last time we went to US was probably in 2006.

I agree with the impression of the BC rooms so it is good to know they look better in person. I have mixed opinions on the pool there--not sure if I would be crazy about it or not! And it is so disappointing to go back somewhere (Boma) you really enjoyed only for it not to live up to your memories!

Loved the picture with the time machine from Back to the Future :thumbsup2 I really need to get over to US some time!

I saw over on the Oct. board that your hubby is coming now:cool1: That much be so exciting.

I mentioned to Caitlin that we were staying at Pop and she wasn't happy about that. We would like to switch to POFQ but it will depend on if any discounts come out or not. I want to stay somewhere I know DH wouldn't like and I have always wanted to stay at the FQ. Caitlin likes the slide and the purple beds.

Thanks for the quick reply. I am hoping we can make it to lunch somewhere but wasn't sure if we would have time. Caitlin wants to go to RFC and I am thinking we can make it to DTD if we are staying at FQ. Then, I think maybe we should try Le Chefs for lunch. Do you eat there last year?

I don't whether or not it's "cool" that he's going with us. :rotfl: He's either going to love it or hate it. If he hates it, I've googled directions to the closest Hooters and he can get his butt in a cab and head there every day rather than be a Debbie Downer. :lmao: Quite frankly, I don't have high hopes, but you never know, he may surprise me. I really wanted to stay at the Boardwalk with him because of the ability to walk to Epcot for him to drink beer around the world, and he would eat at the ESPN Club every day, but it's just out of my price range this time.

I chose the POR because I couldn't get the FQ with my discount. (I'm with Caitlin, I like the purple bed spreads too.) The boat service to DTD beats bus service by a landslide. I requested a refurb'd room, I hope we get it. The room quality will either make or break this trip with him.

We didn't eat at Chefs, but Kassidy is absolutely dying to. I had a reservation for dinner booked there for this upcoming trip, but I cancelled it for a Via Napoli because...wait for it...the husband would HATE Le Chefs, but loves pizza. See, the man comes with me and it just ruins all my plans. I kid. I kid. Kind of...

I'm glad you liked the BC studio - I've felt the same way regarding the room decor. It looks like it needs updating but didn't they just update their rooms? I think it's the tv cabinet and bedspreads that make it look outdated :confused3

We have always stayed at BWV renting points (I can't remember if you used points for your trip). Love the BWV boardwalk view  We wandered over to Beach Club for the first time to walk through the hallways and wandered out over by the private pool side (we wanted to see if we would like BC over BWV). I think I would be disappointed with the view on the BC DVC side unless I got an upper floor and could see France. Do you have any pics of your view to share?

We definitely have to vist Universal Studios on our next trip. Too bad you didn't get a chance to meet the Simpsons before you left.

Great Updates Pink!!! I'm not a big Universal fan either.....give me Disney any day!!!

I do like US, but wish we didn't have to go there every trip. I am hoping we can cut back to 1 day next time and do both parks in a day since we have done mostly everything there. I am sure DH will say no though.

US is fun. It is different from Disney but it is a nice change. The US hasn't been too busy which is very nice.

I wish I had gotten the mug now:sad1: I got a shirt instead. What was I thinking?

Sorry your breakfast at Boma was not all that great. That was an enormous strawberry on your plate!

The strawberries were large, but I think the camera angle helped it along. No way was it as big as the pancakes. Very yummy though.

:rolleyes1 We might not be staying at Pop after all. Our trip is getting messed with but I don't want to say anything until I am completely sure.

Boma was much better last year. I think it was just an off morning. You can't be great everyday right?

I wouldn't have minded staying at US if it wasn't so hot and I hadn't gotten the text from BC. Once I knew that I could be in SAB, US had no chance.

I thought the studios were pretty cute in person. I still like the normal rooms better, but I am not willing to pay more to get a regular room.

Most people seem to love SAB. I would like to try it again sometime when Caitlin is older to see if I enjoy it more.

I didn't even know it was there. We just came across it. They have the train from the 3rd movie too.

I hear you. I was trying to talk DH into coming, but did I really want him to come. Wouldn't everything just be the same?

DH has stuck to his refusal but has agreed to go somewhere else for our 10 year anniversary that might cause us to cancel our Oct. trip. We'll see.

I do have some pictures of the view. It was much better in person though.

I didn't put in a request for BCV other than high floor so I was very happy we could see the fireworks from both of our BCV rooms.

We left off in SAB. Around 3pm I made everyone get out and head back to the room to get ready for our Fantasmic package adr at Mama Melrose. I believe it was for 420.

Here is a picture of our view from the balcony.

We were dressed quickly and headed for the boat to DHS.

If it wasn’t so hot I probably would have made the walk, but I really wanted to see how the boats were in this area. It seemed to take forever for a boat to arrive and we were cutting close to being able to make our adr.

Finally our boat arrived and we were on our way. I think we arrived at DHS at 415. I handed DH all of my stuff except my ticket and took off. I would head to MM and check us in and DH would bring Caitlin and meet me there.

I flew through that park and checked in right on time. If you are eating at MM with the Fantasmic package you know you will be waiting. They said it would be about a half hour wait which I was actually happy about since I knew DH would take awhile. The lobby wasn’t as packed as it was last year. There was nowhere to sit but plenty of space to move around. Last year we were packed like sardines in the waiting area.

After a few minutes I was able to snag a bench. DH was taking forever so I tried to call him. No answer. 20 minutes must have passed and they still weren’t there.

Finally they showed up with a CM. Apparently the DHS map is confusing and DH couldn’t find MM. A very nice CM walked them over to make sure they made it. We were called in a few minutes later.

I love the interior of MM.

We waited awhile before our waitress came over. She walked by us at least 10 times before stopping. We placed our orders for apps, drinks and entrees since we had so much time to study the menu. DH and I both had the chicken parm and Caitlin had pizza.

For dessert I went with canoli cake and the other 2 had vanilla gelato.

I also had a glass of sangria which I would have liked to have another. Since our waitress was never around that didn’t happen. I didn’t want to order it with dessert b/c I wouldn’t have finished it.

Somewhere during dinner DH had his sunglasses on the table. I put them in my bag so that they wouldn’t get lost.

MM was pretty disappointing. The service stunk and the food was only okay. We will be skipping it for awhile.

Sorry to hear your experience at MM was lackluster. I've never heard raving reviews about their food either.

October Trip Update-

Our October Trip has been cancelled. :sad2: It started out being a cheap weekend trip to Pop with no TS meals but somehow it starting getting more and more expensive. Staying at POFQ with no discounts available yet, Caitlin insisting on eating at Akershus, CRT, CP and Park Fare. Halloween costumes and BBB was starting to add up. Plus if Caitlin and I spend all this money in Oct. I won’t have anything left to pay for a short trip in Nov. which will be our 10 year wedding anniversary. I called DH and mentioned this. How about we cancel Oct. and take a different trip in November. He agreed. It has taken a few days but we are now fully booked and airplane tickets have been changed. Where are we going?

................................................................................................................................................................................................................

We are going to be sailing on the Disney Dream to the Bahamas Nov. 3-6.:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:
Caitlin was not thrilled about changing the trip.

" I don’t want to go on a cruise":sad1: but over the last few days she has changed her tune. It might have had something to do with DH insisting that we do a dolphin encounter on our Nassau day.:thumbsup2

(Amandaw you should get a commission. If I had not been reading your report this trip would never be happening)

Off to make a new ticker.:banana:

I'm sad to hear about your disappointment in MM... I was thinking of eating there for the F! pkg... There are always bad reviews about H&V though, so I really didn't want to try that. Hmmm I'm still going with MM I think. :)
Sorry about the cancellation of you October trip but jealous of your cruise!!!! That will be a great anniversary trip! :thumbsup2

Everytime we walk by MM, it smells soooo good, we always want to try it, but never have. We always eat at Tony's, so MM is too similar. Maybe we'll have to try it one day. Just bite the bullet!!

Glad you're going on the cruise!! The ship is AWESOME!!!! I've seen it, shoot, you can see it going across the first bridge heading to the cape!! When DH was stationed here before he made Chief, he was right across from the cruise ships, and we always LOVED watching them. I think on our other computer I have pictures of the dream from the CG base. If I get a chance, I'll post them for you. It's HUGE!! You'll enjoy it. We wanted to take a cruise for our 10th also, but we bought a house instead! Priorities!! LOL Are you guys renting a car when you come to the terminal? We're not too far off the beaten path....would be nice for you to stop by and see us!! :)

Yay for a cruise on the Dream!!!:yay: I'm so jealous, I've read a few TRs on the Dream and it looks amazing! I'm sure Caitlin will absolutely love it once she sees all the fun stuff they have for her to do, and of course a dolphin encounter will help;)

OMG that's why Caitlin told me the other day you were going on a cruise!! That's awesome, I want to do one so bad! I was thinking instead of WDW in May for our anniversary to do a cruise instead, to give Brandon a break! We'll see! What kind of room are you booking?

Hi! Just subbed- going back to read.... your 10% huggable daughter is adorable!! :goodvibes Can't wait to read about DC!:thumbsup2
