OOOPS!!!! I posted this on the Seaworld/Discovery board.

I was just wondering ~ I'm heading to HRH in May with my hubby and three kids (16,14,11)

With the parks closing at 7:00, I was wondering what else you've done offsite. I know we have Citywalk, but I don't want to go to Florida to see a movie. There were a few things scheduled (concert @ HRL, Fearfactor) which we are either going to be too late or too early for.

We're not going to WDW parks at all. Although, with no fireworks at Universal, is there anywhere to see Disney's fireworks?

Don't get me wrong ~ I'm thrilled I'm even going & I'm sure there will be plenty to do ~ but I would just like to know if anyone's had any ideas on cool things to do just in case.

Thanks

You can have dinner at Aurthur's 27 in Wyndham Palace and watch WDW fireworks. Dinner for 2 about 150. Recommend the lobster bisque.

Our family often goes to USO during off peak times so the parks close between 6-7. By that time we head back to the hotel freshen up and either have a nice dinner at one of the on-sites or we head to CityWalk for a fun meal and then walk around afterwards...there is always something going on at CW! We have yet to be bored and go see a movie...LOL Take a stroll by Margaritaville they usullay have entertainment. If you do have a car one evening why not head to DTD for some fun and a chance to view the fireworks too.:) Also...there is something going on at the end of May called Cinco de Mayo
May 5, 2005 and also...Fiesta Caliente
May 28 & 29

You probably already know this, but you can see the fireworks, Wishes while having dinner at Ohana's at the Polynesian Resort. They dim the lights and pipe in the music, and you can reserve a table by the window. It's pretty magical and fun with the Hawaiian theme and the good food. There's a Bucket of Ice kids can order for desert and they have hool-a- hoop contests and coconut races.

Here's the menu http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_oh.htm

Just find out what time the fireworks are and then make the reservation for a half hour before and request a table by the window. You can also veiw them from the beach at the Polynesian. I've heard that it's pretty nice to sit on the hammocks and watch them.

I believe you can see them from the California Grill at the Contemporary, but
they don't play the music. I think there's an observation deck there too, so you could have dinner first.

Hope this helps. The only other thing I can think of is the obvious, Gooney Golf, but I agree with you on going to Florida to see a movie, yuck, LOL.
Have fun!

Hi All,

Thanks for your suggestions ~~~ any others are more than welcome :flower:

Motherfletcher ~ sounds like a very nice restaurant, but $150 for two? Now when I'm on vacation my motto is...."We're on vacation, let's do everything and don't skimp...we can be conservative when we get home" but we have five and already going to Emril's.

JessicaR ~ I checked the events calendar ~ we miss Cinco de Mayo and Fiest Caliente our date is May 10-15. Not much on the calendar. Just thought I would get some expert advise on what others may have done just in case

Snoopymom ~ those sound like good options If I want to travel to Disney one night.

Thanks everyone
