Words can't explain how happy this family is right now. Trip is planned for 9-12 thru 9-20-08. Pre-trip planning has gone very smooth. All CM have been over the board top nice to deal with. But it makes me wonder, am I missing anything major?

Decided to go to Disney-check
Decided DVC made good sense-check
Talked with Disney, Timeshare Store and DVC Members about DVC-check
Found points at VWL-we wanted as "Home"-check
Made it thru ROFR in 2 weeks-check
Closed a month later-check
Made ADR's and got EVERYPLACE we wanted-check
New member number received-check
Made FIRST DVC reservations-Okay, didn't get our "home" but OKW-2BR + Studio-which is fine-check
Have an idea of what we want to see & do-check
Took care of minor details surrounding trip, airfare, jazzy rental, car rental etc.-check, check, check
Waiting for DVC packet to come in mail-check

Excited-check
DH excited-:thumbsup2
Kids DD9 & DS7- :cool1: & :woohoo:
Mimi & Pappy- :cheer2: &:yay:

We'll finally get a good nights sleep tonight knowing that all of the DVC-stuff-you go thru purchasing is behind us and we finally have made our reservation.

Veterans-you got me thru this whole process, what else am I missing???

Have you started packing yet? :rotfl:

I think you're in pretty good shape :goodvibes

Congratulations! I am surprised that for your dates, VWL wasn't available for you.

It seems you forgot to sit back in a comfortable reclining chair and recollect on just how good life really is and how fortunate you and your family are...

Don't forget to RELAX during your first, of many, DVC vacations!
Case of addonitis- check
;)

Dont Forget!!! To Swing By Nazareth And Pick Me Up On Your Way! Ill Fit In A Suit Case.

All I can think of is the usual Disney things -

Plan meals - ADRs , DDE , DDP, breakfasts in the room, Grocery list.

Bask in the glory of knowing you are coming back

Know that you don't have to be a park commando :rotfl:

Learn about the owner perks :dance3:

Get ready for the "Welcome Home! feeling

The only thing I can think of is just budgeting some "fun money" for all the extras (souvenirs, tours, golfing, etc). Although if you are like me there can never be enough of that no matter how well you plan :)

Have a great time!

Yeah, so were we. We figured we had a pretty good shot at VWL---oh well, I hear OKW is very nice and the kids will love the slide (sandcastle) at the pool and Mimi loves the picture of the Lighthouse-even though its not real.

I'm sure another time we'll get to stay at VWL

You're right, we are very fortunate to be able to do this. Thanks for reminding me...

Oh yes, there's a MNSSHP on the 16th and 19th, do you plan to attend? I think I'll be going on the 16th. School begins a bit later for me, so I have a get away planned with a friend.

When we first started planning we didn't know anything about it. But then when they announced the tentative dates, we said oh yeah, we have to go to that no matter what it costs--that is something the kids will never forget---and what kid doesn't need more sugar! :rotfl: We have that planned for Tuesday evening the 16th. We figured Friday night would be packed with locals or those alot closer to WDW than us! Looked at pictures from 2006 & 2007---OMG---the parades and fireworks!!! Wow! We are trying to decide if we want to wear costumes or not and if so, what will pack easily and not put us into extra baggage fees at the airport. The kids want us to all dress in a "family theme" or all similar costumes. And it does look like alot of people do dress up.

I have a feeling this trip is going to be major sensory overload for all of us!

Enjoy the anticipation of your first DVC trip (actually the anticipation doesn't get old whether it's the 1st, 4th, 10th.......)! :goodvibes

Feeling the same way!! We kind of bought on a whim at "Doorway" incentives where too good to pass up. Big WDW vets but DS with special needs decided he wanted to check the place out(DTD) one cold boring day....closed 10 days later.

We will be there the same time as you are and everything just fell into place including CRT for breakfast!!

Have an awesome trip!!
