Therer are 2 things at Disneyland that I just don't "get" that everyone else seems to.........The Monte Cristo and Space Mountain. I don't understand the hype about either. ;)

How about you? What don't you get? :goodvibes

Dole Whips and Monsters Inc :)

I had the Monte Cristo for the first time today, and have to say I get it. :) That was the best sandwich I have ever had!

I love Space Mountain too, LOL.

I agree with the Monte Cristo as it is too rich and greasy, and although you can ask for it without, I believe icing sugar just doesnt really belong on a sandwich. Almost as much as an ice cream sandwich shoudnt be a slab of ice cream between 2 pieces of white bread (This being a treat in some countries. Not Disneyland). But Space Mountain is just fast, smooth and a real thrill. Its visually stimulating at the same time with stars and such. Not your usual coaster.

By all means, disagree with me, its great people love these, but I just dont get the Tiki Room or Its a small world

Dole Whips. I had them give me a "taster spoon" of it once, it was disgusting. I also don't get the Monte Cristo thing. They look like a rolled up fried chicken cordon bleu of sorts, and served with jelly?

I finally tried a churro a couple of trips ago, and, that's another "why do people crave these things" type of thing for me. It wasn't bad, but, not something I would have every trip (or even every 2nd, or 3rd or 4th).

I also don't get the tigger tails thing. That has got to be one of the most fattening, disgusting things I've ever seen. Never tried one, nor do I care to. Do people actually eat one of those by themselves in one sitting?????

Oh, I've also never eaten a Mickey ice cream bar (nor do I care to).

I guess I'm not really big on sweets :lmao:

p.s. I finally after a few years tried SM at DL (HATED the one at WDW when I went on it) and it's not too bad. I went on it three times last trip. Now I'll ride it, but it's not a make/break our trip if it's down type of thing (but is any ride?)

Everyone was raving about the Mint Julips at Blue Bayou, so the first time I went I ordered one. Blech! I thought it was disgusting.

Soar'n! It's an ok ride but not the gotta do, worth an hour wait no matter what ride. After a few times its become a rather boring ride to me.

Indiana Jones. I just don't get the hype. The giant ball effect is kinda neat but overall the ride bores me. Nothing really cool about most of the effects.

Jungle Cruise. Decades ago people were already bored with this ride so Disney tried to pump it up with corny jokes. Years of the same jokes over and over and over and over have gotten tiring to me!

:rotfl: Funny as those are my all time favorites along with the MSEP, CoP, and The Country Bears. I think I need a geek smiley!

I totally agree- it was like drinking mouthwash. :scared:

Not a fan of Dole Whips either. I can take a bite or two, but that's about it. If I didn't get it again, I wouldn't care. :)

Bengal's BBQ.. it's not bad, but IMO it's just a couple of small overpriced meat skewers with just so-so sauce. :confused3

One more for the Dole Whip and the Mint Julep.

I brought my mom back a Tigger tail last time and she loved it. I've never had one. I don't really care for marshmallow. Apparently my sister doesn't either as she was not impressed with her Cheshire tail either. haha

I really like the Monte Cristo, but only if I have someone to share it with. It's too much food.

I don't get the Tiki room either. Been once, probably won't be back unless the kid insists and I don't think she will.

And... while I actually do get it, I could go the rest of my life without getting on IASW again. Not a fan. The dolls creep me out a little and I really hate getting that song stuck in my head. lol

Its a really cool ride, and I enjoy going on it. I can do with once ever day or so, but something isnt quite right. I think that is cause the screen clarity isnt very good. But then I expect after that tape being played over and over and over again for many years.... it loses its quality. Right now its definitely not hi-definition. I cant wait for 2013 when they bring in the new movie "Soarin over the world". I am sure they will bring in new technology and bring everything up to date.

People celebrating the a child molestor and lining up to take thir children to see movie with him. Death does not erase the horror of one's life.

I also don't get paying $300+ for a hotel room for one night, That is almost one weeks' base pay for my husband.

I don't "get" Dole Whips. :confused3 They don't even have any chocolate!

I don't "get" how people cannot "get" Monsters Inc. The detail in that ride is incredible! :)

As for Soarnin- I love it but wouldn't wait an hour either. That one is a FP only ride for us. Same for Space.

Haunted Mansion Holiday. Seems like a bad cartoon for me. I even rented "Nightmare Before Christmas" because DISers said that, after seeing that, it would make sense and I'd love it. Yes, it made more sense. But no, it still looks like a bad cartoon. I *love* regular Haunted Mansion. Just the right amount of ghoulishness. HMH is a desecration, in my view.

I get that but love staying on property. For those who insist on staying on-property and don't want to break the bank each trip, DVC is the only way to fly. :thumbsup2 Having said that, I am waiting for the HoJo Ent rate to come out for June for one night.

I :lovestruc Soarin' and it is my family's favorite ride- the one we can all agree on. In fact we have to have the music from Soarin' playing when we pull up the the Disneyland resort.

Did Monte Cristo once. It was not great. But not horrible.

As for Space Mtn, the old version before 2003 never did it for me. People raved about it and I was so-so. Then it re-opened in 2005. Wow! What a difference. I think the new version rocks! I was reminded recently how much the old version did not rock while at Tokyo DL. Their Space Mtn is a virtual copy of the old DL version. Ho-hum.

I like Dole Whips!

But what is it with Bengal BBQ? Lots of folks like that place. We tried it and it was very average. Not bad, not good.

Oh, and I forgot, but that whole turkey leg thing? What's with walking around chewing on a piece of greasy dead bird?
