What does your toothfairy pay?

My DS6 lost his first tooth last night. My husband and I were arguing about how much the toothfairy pays for the first tooth, and any teeth afterwards. So, I was wondering what other families do?

Our tooth fairy pays $5 per tooth, along with stickers or a small book. The first tooth gets five gold dollars -the others get a five dollar bill or whatever combination the tooth fairy has handy.

Our toothfairy is cheap. Five dollars for the first tooth and Two dollars for every other tooth.

Be mindful of your rate because that is the rate they will hold you to for years to come.

The tooth fairy at our house gave 5$ for the 1st tooth. My DD6 just lost her second tooth while we were on vacation at WDW so tinkerbelle left her $10 disney dollars bc she didn't have anything smaller, lol.

$1.00 per tooth with the exception of a front baby tooth, it would not come out... no matter what (even with the perm. tooth coming in)! The dentist first said "to watch it, it will come out" and then at the next check-up, explained it had something to do with the roots from the new one holding in the baby one.

Anyway... he got $5.00 for that tooth... as the dentist had to pull it! By the way, it was one of the causes of needing braces, the permanant tooth truly grew in at the angle that it began because of the baby tooth!

We give $1.00 per tooth. The exception was a tooth that fell out on our way down to Florida for a cruise in November. We told DD that the tooth fairy would find her at our hotel that night. However, I totally, completely forgot about it. So we told DD that we sent a note to the tooth fairy she was going to catch up with the ship. We all forgot about it until the last night of the cruise when I remembered. So I left about $3.00 because I felt bad.

$5 first one, $3 thereafter. The toothfairy only deals in coins (dollar and half dollar pieces) and often leaves a new toothbrush, paste or flossers as well. Be carefull if you start in with the coins. This was easy with DD becuase she always mentioend a loose tooth early on. DS usually does not say anything until it falls out (generally at dinner--long after the bank closes and we live in a rural area so just getting to town is hassle). Now I know to keep a stock pile on hand (I got lucky and DD saved all her coins and I knew where they were and "borrowed" without her knowledge the one time I was cuaght empty handed )

Ditto - and be careful if your children lose a tooth at someone else's house - my parents were watching DD one night when her tooth fell out - they had me convinced that the tooth fairy left her $10 at their house - I thought we were going to have to leave $10 from then on! Luckily they were just pulling my leg!

Our tooth fairy typically pays $1 per tooth in the form of a golden dollar (we've found out that those are rare where we live for some reason). My son lost one of his front teeth at school, and the other front tooth became extremely loose without its gum buddy, so I ended up yanking that one out myself for fear that the tooth would fall out while he was sleeping (took about three hours and a visit from Grandma to get him calm enough to allow me to pull it). DS got $5 in Disney money and a trip to Toys R Us (from Grandma) for that one!

I guess we're stingy, too. $5.00 for the 1st tooth and $1.00 after that. I forgot to call the tooth fairy the other night and she (or in this case, he since it was DH) forgot to come. So she came the next night instead. DD recieved $2.00 for that tooth. The tooth fairy also brings toothbrushes, and other tooth related items when she comes.

Our toothfairy is also cheap. $2 for the first tooth, $1 per tooth after that. My kids have compared with their friends. Some kids gets what they get, others get more. My kids want to know why the tooth fairy doesn't give everyone the same. I kind of bumble my way throught this every time it comes up, but somehow they take my explanations. My kids think that rich parents give money to Santa and the tooth fairy so those kids get more because their parents have paid for it.

Our tooth fairy never seems to leave the same thing!

She left $10 for the first tooth, and normally tries to stick to $5 for all the ones thereafter. But it is always $5 or $10. Just depends on how dramatic the "pulling out" of the tooth was.

Our tooth fairy left $5 for the first tooth and $2 for each tooth after, except for molars. They get $5 each.

On night, there was no money in the house that night, so I told DS that if he left his tooth out on the weekend he would get double.

It worked...

My son fell and knocked out his front tooth just before his third birthday. Believe it or not, the tooth fairy actually met us in the emergency room and gave him $20 to go to the Disney store and buy a surprise for our WDW trip the following week. I'm hoping we hang on to the other 19 teeth for a while.

NAh, we do the same thing. I picked up a roll of the "gold" dollars, and leave those in a velvet bag. Our daughter loves them as they are kinda like pirate treasure, hehe.
